Finished in Black over a matching leather interior with red seat piping, this 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe was converted with Slant Nose-style bodywork before the current owner’s purchase in 1991. Since then, it has been further modified with a K27 turbocharger, an upgraded intercooler, stainless-steel headers, a dual exhaust system, a 1-bar wastegate spring, an MSD ignition box, lowered suspension, a roll bar, a MOMO steering wheel, a Wevo shift knob, and genuine 17” RUF Speedline wheels. It remained under the seller’s care until it was sold to a friend in 2006 and eventually reacquired by the seller in 2019. Showing approximately 64k miles on the odometer, this 930 is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This 911 Turbo was modified with steel Slant Nose-style bodywork under previous ownership including flat vented front fenders, pop-up headlamps, a 930SE-style front spoiler, boxed rocker panels, and straked side air intakes. The exterior is finished in Black and features integrated front fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, a Tea Tray rear spoiler, custom dual exhaust outlets, slim Euro-spec rear bumperettes, and 17” RUF Speedline wheels measuring 8” wide in front and 10” wide at the rear. The seller notes signs of road-going wear on the front fascia and a blemish on the rear bumper next to the license plate. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Equipped with factory Sport Seats, the Black leather interior is accented by custom red piping. Accessories include a three-spoke MOMO Corse steering wheel, a roll bar, aluminum pedal covers, a Wevo aluminum shift knob, power windows, a heater, a Sony Bluetooth stereo, and aftermarket speakers. The AC compressor has been removed, the clock was replaced with an analog boost gauge, and some cracks can be seen on the rear seat bases.
The turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six engine was factory-rated at 265 HP and 291 lb.-ft of torque and drives the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle. Under the seller’s ownership, the engine has been modified with a K27 turbocharger, an aftermarket aluminum intercooler, an MSD ignition box, upgraded spark plug wires, a K&N air filter, a 1-bar wastegate spring, stainless-steel headers, and a dual exhaust system. The suspension has been lowered and a front strut brace has been installed. Recent service is said to include a new alternator and belt, new brakes, filters, fuel pumps, spark plugs, new Wevo shifter linkage, an oil change, and a brake fluid flush.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, the original airbox, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This car is a real attention-getter. Always draws attention at car gatherings. Not a trailer queen, but very impressive. Loud, impressive-sounding engine and exhaust. Fast car and very reliable for an older Porsche 930. Always kept in a heated and air-conditioned garage. Very well maintained.”

The 930 was dubbed "Widow Maker" by CA. OK, usually bought by rich idiots who got drunk and wrapped the 930 around a tree, post, building, whatever. While engine improvements are welcome, they do NOT address handling issues.
From past experience, I recommend:
Front torsion bars 22-23mm (19mm std)
Rear torsion bars 29-30mm (25mm std)
Weltmeister 22mm front adjustable sway bar
Weltmeister 22mm rear adjustable sway bar (none = std)
Stainless Steel brake lines with DOT 4 fluid
Gas pedal modified for same surface height as brake pedal, titanium connectors, heel/toe braking/gas
911 SC camshafts, 1.70-1.74 each, valve springs 34.5mm
7.6:1 (or more) Compression Ratio (up from 6.8:1 std)
Intake ports and Heads 36mm, polished (32mm std)
Viton valve seals
Engine case inside smooth and polished
Engine/Alternator aluminum fan race pulleys, increase fan speed/cooling +62%
935 28row brass front oil cooler with Euro oil system and pump oil capacity increase from 9 liters to 16 liters, dry sump system
962 Pressure fed chain tensioners (the "IMS" of air cooled engines
Just what is needed for a better "next level". JMO. YMMV
A Real 930 for this low??
When are these slant nose conversions going to get the love, they deserve?
Not that hard to change the front clip and double its value...

@Dubdub5280 The leather is a little wavy where it meets the windshield, but not torn or ripped. I have not tried to repair. It's not very prominent.

Is this car an original 930 just with the converted slant nose?
@kmac Yes, you're right about the color. I never really looked it up before, and assumed the earlier commentor was correct. Never "ass ume", lol. Thanks for pointing out original color is Oak Green Metallic.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
Hi, Nice car. I just want to confirm the original color; the door tag reads 265 9-3 which decodes to Oak Green Metallic for a 1979 Porsche (not Ice Green as mentioned in an earlier post). Thanks

@dunavantent Yes,I do love the look and sound of the exhaust. Yes, it was originally Ice Green.
These dual tip B&B mufflers are awesome on the 930's. Tempting to install one on my 964 Turbo. Turn the tips. So is the original Color Ice Green?

Any accidents?
Bid in the amount of $12,800
@BANANA Leaks a little. Not bad at all for a 930. I replaced all gaskets underneath that I could get to.
I lost the as parts long time ago. Brackets are still in the car. It can be put back. The original parts are available. Never worked real well anyway. I was considering something aftermarket, but was never really an issue for me.
It is a US spec car.
In the pictures it seems like the car is leaking oil?
How difficult would it be to re-install the aircon? the removed parts are still with the car?
Is this a US spec car?
Thanks
@michaelp1usa Yes
Everything works properly?
If you're local, I'll probably have it at Macy's in Manhasset this Sunday morning at the car gathering. Weather permitting....
This car has treated me very well for a lot of years. It's time for someone else to enjoy. It always leaves you smiling after stretching it's legs.....John
