As the final model year for the Mark V, this 1979 Lincoln Continental is powered by a 400ci V8 engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Dove Gray over gray leather upholstery. It features a vinyl landau roof, opera windows, concealed headlights, power accessories, steel wheels with hubcaps, automatic climate control, a radio, and more. Showing under 3k miles on the odometer, this well-preserved Mark V Continental is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This example is finished in Dove Gray and features a matching vinyl roof and iconic rear quarter oval opera windows. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, a chrome grille, bumpers, mirrors, and trim. It rides on steel wheels with hubcaps and new Vitour Galaxy R1 Radial G/T tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is appointed with power-adjustable seats upholstered in gray leather, accented by woodgrain trim on the dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. Amenities include power locks, windows, air conditioning, a radio, and reading and dome lights. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a 400ci V8 engine featuring a two-barrel carburetor, which delivers a factory-rated 159 HP and 315 lb.-ft of torque to rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has an independent front suspension using coil springs and a solid rear axle with leaf springs, while power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes facilitate stopping power.
This sale will include a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This car is in amazing shape, ready for the next person's collection.”

The car was especially tuned up. I started it quickly and ended the video quickly. I’m sure it idles is fine. I don’t remember that being an issue but when I’m near the car, I will do that.
It sounds like the car is idling at 2,500 +/- RPM. Are you able to get it to settle into a normal idle, say around 900 RPM?
