Marking the third generation of Chevrolet’s Corvette sports car, this 1979 C3 Corvette comes finished in Pearlescent White and was acquired by the owner’s father over 30 years ago. Factory options included a glass roof, air conditioning, Gymkhana Suspension (FE-7), an L82 V8 engine, and a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car received a replacement engine block under current ownership and features a host of performance upgrades including Edelbrock cylinder heads, RPM manifold, and electronic fuel injection. Driven approximately 18k miles on its fully rebuilt engine, this Corvette is now being offered for auction by its long-term owner out of Connecticut.
The fiberglass bodywork is said to have been completely stripped about 11 years ago before being refinished in the Lexus-derived color of Pearlescent White with custom red pinstripes. Equipment includes a factory-optioned removable glass roof panel and aftermarket 18” American Racing chrome alloy wheels. The original factory L82 alloy wheels are said to accompany the sale and the car is currently riding on a set of Hankook tires which were mounted about 3 years ago. A few minor chips and scratches are noted throughout the exterior consistent with age and normal road wear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The red interior was refreshed with new leather upholstery for the seats about 2 years ago and features a factory-optioned air-conditioning system as well as a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, a factory cassette radio, and Corvette-branded floor mats. Some chips and signs of fading are noted on the center console and shifter, and the seller reports all gauges and accessories work properly apart from the electric passenger-side window.
A full rebuild of the V8 engine was completed approximately 18k miles ago and included a new 350ci engine block along with high-performance cams and lifters, a custom stainless-steel exhaust, and MSD ignition control box as well as Edelbrock cylinder heads, RPM intake manifold, and throttle body electronic fuel injection system. The car also received modernized disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, a secondary electronic cooling fan, and poly suspension bushings front and rear. The power steering lines have been replaced and new brake lines were installed in 2021.
This sale will include some documentation and a clean title.

@Brian45040 OK thank you, sir. You do have a beautiful car. And my favorite cars are always white with red interior. Again, best of luck with your sale.
@dooscoop32 fair enough here is what I can say the tach is original to the car when my father purchased it in 1991, and the vin on the car codes for an L82. If it was changed it was done during the first 11 years of the cars life.

@dooscoop32 no you a correct for a 78 which did have the 6000 redline for 79 they backed it down and removed the L82 label.
@Brian45040 Sorry to disagree with you but that's not right. See the link provided.

@dooscoop32 so the gauges are original the L82 label was not included on the 79 gauge. But these are the original to the car. The engine block is new and actually this is the third motor it has had in its life.
Has your car had the speedo/tach cluster changed? It should have a 6000 red line on the tach and should have L-82 printed on the tach.
Also, does your car have its original born-with engine? If so, could you provide some pics of the engine-identifying stamp pad?
Thank you for your time. And good luck with your auction.

Hey everyone I'm Brian the Vette's current owner. This car has been in my family for over 30 years and my personal collection for almost 10, but I unfortunately don't get to drive it as much as I use to. In light of that I've decided to put the car up for sale, so it can hopefully go to a new owner who will enjoy it as much as I have.
Happy to answer any questions that might come up.
