We are pleased to offer this number’s matching 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo Euro-spec presented in black over a black leather interior. Representing one of only 735 European variants built for the model year, this 1978 example has been maintained and gradually restored by its longtime caretaker over the past 20 years. Highlighting rare factory Sport Seats and some tasteful modifications including an upgraded K27 turbocharger and HRE wheels, this 930 is now being offered for auction in excellent running order showing approximately 29k miles on the odometer.
This 930 is said to have been professionally refinished in its originally specified color of black just ten years ago. The seller notes the exterior to be in great condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Noteworthy features include a power operated sunroof and rear window wiper as well as distinctive wide fenders and a “tea tray” rear spoiler. This Turbo rides on a set of attractive 3-piece HRE wheels which come wrapped in healthy Sumitomo HTR tires.
Inside, the black leather interior highlights reupholstered factory Sport Seats, a new dash pad and new rubber seals. The seller notes that Coco floor mats have been added along with an upgraded head unit and aluminum instrument bezel rings. All gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional.
Power comes from an air-cooled 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine rated at 298 HP from stock. The rear wheels are driven by way of a number’s matching 4-speed manual transmission making for a pure and unadulterated driving experience. An upgraded K27 turbocharger kit has been installed along with a performance B&B exhaust system providing for increased power output and an incredible soundtrack. The seller states that the engine was refreshed during the mid 90’s and the transmission is also said to have been rebuilt at some point. Over the past 20 years, this Turbo has undergone over $30k worth of maintenance with its last major service carried out in 2019. This included a valve adjustment and gasket replacement as well as a fluid and filter change. Accompanied by records dating back 30 years, this 930 is shown to be up to date on all scheduled service and is said to remain in fantastic driving condition.
The sale of this Turbo will include a set of two keys, original books and accessories, car cover, MOMO steering wheel and extensive service records. Do not miss out on your opportunity to own this well maintained 930 Tubro.
