First introduced in 1960, the International Scout was designed as a competitor of the Jeep in the emerging 4x4 recreational vehicle market. Among the Scout II models produced from 1971 to 1980, this 1978 example has been refinished in Omaha Orange with black accents over black and plaid upholstery. Powered by a 345ci V8 engine paired with a 3-speed Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission, it features a dual-range transfer case, Dana 44 axles, and a host of replacement mechanical components. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.

This Scout II was previously refinished in Omaha Orange, complemented by a black soft top with roll-up windows. A black-finished SSII grille insert and matching bumpers, door handles, and mirrors are also equipped. The truck rides on matte black-finished 15” Method wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with white lettering. A ceramic coating is said to have been applied, and the seller notes minor paint imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Occupants are greeted with black vinyl upholstery complemented with plaid-patterned seat centers. The equipment includes replacement seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, a Tuffy storage console with an armrest, and a black padded upper dashboard with lower wood trim. A full roll cage is also installed, and bedliner material has been applied to the floors.

Power comes from a 345ci V8 engine with a 3-speed Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and Dana 44 axles. Under the previous ownership, the engine received a tune-up, and the master brake cylinder, wheel cylinders, and shocks were replaced.

This sale will include a clean title.
