Available for auction is this restored 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 finished in blue over a gray leatherette interior. The 40-Series was first produced in 1960 to compete with the American Jeep and British Land Rover and is considered one of the most capable and robust off-road vehicles of all time. This FJ40 has notable accessories including power steering, front disc brakes, air conditioning, and a roll bar as well as a new air conditioning compressor, electronic starter, and more. Having been restored and regularly maintained over the last three years, this FJ40 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey showing just under 4k kilometers since restoration.
As part of its restoration, this FJ40 was painted in the current shade of blue with an accenting white grille and hard top, along with gray bumpers and mirrors. It rides on its original rims which are dressed in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. Other features include rear ambulance-style doors and a rear-mounted spare tire.
The restored cabin features a front split bench seat and rear inward-facing jump seats finished in new gray leatherette accented by a body-colored dashboard. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This FJ40 is powered by a 4.2-liter single-carburetor 2F inline-six engine. Power can be sent to the rear wheels or all four wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The seller notes that routine maintenance has been performed on a regular basis.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, and a spare tire.

@skywalker27612 it is worth keeping it. There is no rust. Engine and pwrtrain perform like champ. I keep getting 3 thumbs up per mile, so no rush. It will go to a new owner when the time comes.
Thanks again everyone for your comments.
If it was US spec it would get a better price. 30k definitely more than solid for SA version.
Thank you everyone. The auction was great. Unfortunately, it didn't meet the reserve. So I will enjoy it a bit longer. No rush. This is a well rounded FJ40.

@skywalker27612 yes, I did import it to the US a few years ago. Quite some work has been done in the US. I also drive it frequently, so it is very dependable/reliable.
