Up for auction is this 1975 Porsche 911 Silver Anniversary Edition. Commemorating 25 years of Porsche sports car production, the 911S Silver Anniversary Edition is distinguished by unique Diamond Silver Metallic paint and a special black leatherette and tweed interior. The first of Porsche’s commemorative ‘celebration’ cars, this Silver Anniversary was produced in a limited run of 1,063 examples, of which approximately 500 are reported to have made their way to the United States. This particular example, #122, is said to have remained under the care of the same owner from new and features an upgraded 3.0L flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. A comprehensive service was completed in October of 2020 at a cost of over $7,500 which included new tires, rubber seals, a new clutch, valve adjustments, and much more. This rare 911S Silver Anniversary Edition is being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 911S comes finished in special Diamond Silver Metallic paint with factory optional headlight washers. The car is said to have been previously refinished in its original color as the factory paint began to fail. Signs of road-going wear are also noted throughout the exterior, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings. This 911S rides on silver 15” ATS Cookie Cutter wheels dressed in a set of Yokohama tires which were mounted in 2020.
Inside, the cabin comes trimmed in a special combination of black leatherette and tweed upholstery. A set of Porsche crested floor mats are present as well as an aftermarket under-dash A/C system and an upgraded Blaupunkt radio. A commemorative plaque reading “Silver Anniversary Modell Nr.122” was originally affixed to the dashboard and will also accompany the sale. The interior is described to have been well preserved for its age with all instruments and accessories remaining fully functional. Recent refurbishments include the replacement of the trunk carpeting, fuse box cover, wiper blades, and service of the A/C system. The 5-digit odometer currently reads approximately 20k miles and the total mileage is reported to be over 120k miles.
The original 2.7L engine has been upgraded to a larger, more powerful 3.0L flat-six, which drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. A major service was completed in 2020 which included new valve cover gaskets, a rear main seal, valve adjustments, spark plugs, a new throw-out bearing, clutch, and battery among many other items as detailed in the invoice provided by AJ-USA. The seller notes some minor oil seepage from the engine and reports no outstanding service items at this time.
This sale will include a recent service invoice, a toolkit, spare tire, the original dashboard plaque, and a clean title. Highlighting a one-owner history, an upgraded 3.0L engine, and comprehensive recent service, this rare Silver Anniversary Edition 911S is ready to be enjoyed by a new caretaker.

@tdskip lack of detail on the underside especially the pan mount on driver side may be giving some pause. Great looking mid year and I’m sure fun with the 3.0 setup. I have a ‘77 with the 2.7 and love it .
Good luck!

So with the usual disclaimer of still a fair amount of time to go before this closes blah blah blah, I’m surprised this hasn’t captured more interest.

Is this the correct transmission for this model year? I'm curious about the gear layout. It doesn't match my prior experience but am having trouble finding what was normal for this.
