We are pleased to offer this 1974 Ferrari 365 GT/4 BB from the personal collection of one of PCARMARKET’s founding executives . Distinguished as being Ferrari’s first mid-engine 12-cylinder road car, the 365 GT/4 BB was produced between 1973-1976 as an answer to Lamborghini's Miura with a production number of 387 examples in total, making it the rarest of all Berlinetta Boxers. Originally delivered new to Geneva, this early Boxer was eventually imported by Amerispec to the U.S. where, in more recent years, it has been treated to a major engine-out service by Berlinetta Racing Cars at a cost of over $51,000. Showcasing a phenomenal 4.4 L horizontally opposed 12-cylinder carbureted engine, this highly desirable Ferrari 365 GT/4 BB is now being offered out of a private collection in New York with just over 18,700 Miles (30,000 KM) displayed on the odometer, accompanied by service records and a Ferrari Classiche certification red book.
This Ferrari underwent a full repaint in its iconic factory color of Rosso Corsa some years ago during previous ownership. The Pininfarina designed bodywork remains in outstanding condition and the paint is nicely presented with a few minor imperfections (detailed images provided in the photo gallery). Exterior highlights include pop-up headlights, a black mid-spoiler and distinctive black carburetor intakes on the rear clamshell engine lid. Factory 5-spoke Cromodora wheels are equipped which feature plus-1 upgraded rear dimensions of 9x15" and BF Goodrich tires.
The Tan Cuoio interior is noted to have been well-preserved over the years with some minor refurbishments. Details include classic Daytona-style bucket seats and a completely restored Becker Mexico cassette radio. Under the front bonnet you will find an original toolkit as well as the original spare tire and jack.
Representing Ferrari’s first road-going model with a mid-mounted 12-cylinder engine, this Classiche certified 365 is equipped with its original 4.4 L carbureted flat-12 motor which sends an impressive 380 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed ZF manual transaxle. Factory performance features also include four-wheel independent suspension with unequal length A-arms, anti-roll bars, twin coilovers at the rear and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Modifications consist of an MSD ignition box as well as period-correct and widely accepted ANSA exhaust system which features quad tips. In the past 10 years, over $51,000 was spent at Berlinetta Racing Cars for a major engine-out service which included the following:
This early Boxer is reported to be in great driving condition and service invoices are provided for reference within the photo gallery.
The sale of this incredibly significant Ferrari Boxer will include a set of 2 ignition keys, 2 door lock keys, a key for the glovebox, the original books and tools, the original spare tire and jack, a Ferrari Classiche Certification red book and a collection of service records. As the rarest and purest of all the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxers, this 365 GT/4 offers a truly special opportunity for any vintage sports car aficionado.

Bid in the amount of $230,000
Talk about a rare find, you almost never see these, even at Ferrari events. A true mid-engine 12 cylinder, what a masterpiece and might I say, nice example. Good luck to buyer and seller.
Could you post the pages from the red book regarding engine and transmission please
Bid in the amount of $221,000
@Jemada Thank you for your inquiry. The full drivetrain is numbers matching. I will look for the pages in the red book that pertain to that as you requested. But you can be assured it is numbers matching and can bid with confidence.
Are engine and transmission original to the car?
Can you show the pages in red book pertaining to the engine and transmission?

One of my favorite all time cars.........STUNNING!!!!! The view over the front hood from the driver's seat is EPIC.......
Should say nowhere near where it is today.
This car needs an exhaust. Should be 3 pipes out each side, a signature of the 365s, and it's $20K to make that right.
As a BB512i owner I have been following the Boxer market, it's blended near where it was in late 2014 - early 2016.
Wow! This car is really interesting. It must take some skills to get those Weber’s synchronized and set.
Bid in the amount of $125,000
I have never in my life seen this car before, which obviously precedes the later 512BBi. I have to guess that these were made in extremely low volumes as a result, but what a treat to see this car for auction here!
@CBSUE this is 100% a 1974. It was called the early Boxer as is preceded the 512. It is lighter, quicker, more agile and considerably rarer than the 512. Ferrari’s first mid-engine 12cl. These typically sell for between $400-600k in this condition and depending on all the typical criteria. Great car and nice to see this on Pcarmarket.
My guess it is a 84 not 74 with that being said I owned a twin to this car they are a great reliable 12 cylinder Ferrari can not go wrong putting a BB in your garage.
