Introduced in 1960, the 40-Series Land Cruiser has long been celebrated for its exceptional off-road capabilities and enduring durability. This 1973 Toyota FJ40 underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, including a frame-off restoration and engine overhaul approximately 3 years ago. It is refinished in grey over a black reupholstered interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Featuring 15” steel wheels, manually locking front hubs, and a heater, this FJ40 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
As part of its frame-off restoration, this truck was refinished in gray. It features a hardtop with a white-finished roof, complemented by a silver front bumper and rear bumperettes. Equipment includes a louvered hood, dual side mirrors, recovery hooks, and a rear liftgate with lower barn doors. It also features manually locking front hubs. The seller notes that the engine underwent an overhaul before the acquisition, and an oil and filter change and engine tune-up are said to have been performed in preparation for the sale.
