The Lancia Fulvia coupe was introduced in 1965 as a compact front-wheel-drive coupe and would go on to enjoy a successful motorsport career, winning the Italian Rally Championship from 1965-1972 (except for 1970). This 1972 Series 2 1.3S is finished in red over a black leather interior and is said to have been imported from Southern Italy to the United States where it received an overhaul of the carburetors, a refresh of the ignition system, a 123Ignition electronic distributor, refurbishment of the cooling system, and a complete rebuild of the hydraulic brakes. This Lancia Fulvia 1.3S is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Maine.

The exterior is finished in red, and features quad headlamps, chrome trim, chromed front and rear bumpers, a hood scoop, locking fuel cap, driver’s side chrome mirror, and a single exhaust tip. The seller notes some minor imperfections in the paint, detailed images are provided in the gallery. The 14” steel wheels wear Lancia hubcaps and are wrapped in Kleber Dynaxer HP2 tires.

The cabin features a pair of low-backed bucket seats upholstered in black leather with a matching rear bench and black carpeting. Details include a two-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, a heater, a wood dash panel, a locking glovebox, Veglia instrumentation, and an AM radio. The seller reports the Veglia analog clock is no longer functional.

Power is derived from a 1.3L narrow-angle V4 equipped with twin Solex carburetors producing up to 89 HP. The front wheels are driven through a 5-speed transaxle. It features an independent front suspension and a live rear axle with leaf springs, and braking is handled by discs at all four corners. Upon importation, this Lancia is said to have undergone an overhaul of the carburetors, a refresh of the ignition system, installation of a 123Ignition electronic distributor, replacement of cooling system components, and a complete rebuild of the hydraulic braking system, including new calipers, hoses, and a new master cylinder.

This sale will include a transferrable Georgia title along with some service documents.

@ibmiked No problem. In Maine vehicles over 25 years old are not titled. It is registered to me in the state of Maine. I have all the paperwork necessary for the buyer to utilize the Georgia title and my Maine registration to easily obtain a title in your state. I have done this before with another vehicle that was over 25 years old and was not titled in Maine. There should be no issues with your concern.

  • ibmiked (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Thanks for the fast reply. Did you ever title and register the car? It says you're in Maine but it has a Georgia title. Just trying to get comfortable with the very short period of ownership.

No offense but buying over the internet means a person needs to be vigilant and keep an eye out for red flags.

    @ibmiked hello
I do not know if it came from DG classics . However my mechanic has had it up on the lift for an oil change and commented that it’s the “cleanest” Lancia he’s ever seen . He did not mention any rust and I have not seen any either

  • ibmiked (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Hello again. Do you have any idea if this car came through DG Classics in Italy? It looks lovely but my concern is underside rust.

@jab7106 Would you be able to share the name of the dealer?

    Thanks

  • jab7106 (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@Mrosilio Hello.....so there is no carafe as the vehicle was imported from Italy. It was imported by a dealer in Georgia whose focus is on Italian sports cars i.e. Fiat, Lancia, etc. The dealer did all the mechanical upgrades listed in the writeup.
I have the receipt for the 123 electronic distributor and coil. I also have photos of the brake work that was performed by the Georgia dealer.
I have a receipt for a recent oil change performed 10 days ago in preparation for the auction. All of the above items will be posted by end of day or over the weekend. I took possession of the car only 2 months ago as I have always wanted a driver quality fun Italian sports car. Sadly, my elderly parents have required home care which is quite costly and my priorities have been forced to change....thus the auction.

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

How long have you owned the car? Is there a car fax or any other documentation to confirm the accuracy of the mileage? Also still waiting on the service records.

    Thanks

  • jab7106 (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@Jsachs71 The gear lever has never popped out of gear while driving. I can assure you that this has never been a problem.

  • Jsachs71 (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Does the gear lever pop out of gear while driving? Looks like you were concerned about this in the driving video...

@Mrosilio I will provide a driving video going through all the gears. The car has a lever to the right of the steering wheel that is like a choke that was not used on the startup video. It is supposed to be used for a cold start and remain in place until the engine is warm...for like 1-2 minutes. The car holds an idle very well.

  • Mrosilio (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

    Hey,

Can we get a driving video showing you go through all the gears?
Can't really tell from the starting video, but is a throttle blip required to get the car started and hold an idle?
Also, please post detailed copies of all service records.

    Thank you

  • jab7106 (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@jab7106 I believe they are aluminum wheels

  • jab7106 (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Yes I. Emile e they are aluminum wheels
I can get confirmation of that within 24 hours
Also I will put the car up on a lift this weekend and provide undercarriage photos

  • ibmiked (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

"The 14” steel wheels wear Lancia hubcaps" Those sure look like aluminum wheels to me. Can you please clarify? Also, any chance of some underside pictures? Lovely car.
