Produced from 1968 to 1972, the third-generation Chevrolet El Camino featured multiple powertrain options and the iconic Ute body style. This 1970 example is equipped with the largest and most potent powertrain offering of its time, the LS6 454ci V8 engine, and benefits from a refurbishment effort in 2020. It is refinished in its original color of Fathom Blue over a blue vinyl interior and features a 12-bolt rear end, a Positraction differential, 14″ Rally II-style wheels, front disc brakes, and an AM radio. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this El Camino is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Kentucky.
Refinished in its original shade of Fathom Blue in 2020, this Chevy features a contoured hood, quad headlights, “SS” badging, as well as chrome bumpers and trim. It rides on 14” reproduction wheels wrapped in Firestone Wide Oval tires. The seller notes that the right quarter panel was replaced under previous ownership, with the windshield, rear window, and side windows reportedly replaced during current ownership along with the tailgate, bed filler panel, and front-right inner fender. The seller also states that a ceramic coating was applied. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been reupholstered in blue vinyl and features a bench seat and a new headliner. Equipment includes a chrome shifter, a heater, and an AM radio. Additional refurbishment efforts included the replacement of the two-spoke steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, and carpets.
Powered by a rebuilt 454ci LS6 V8 engine, the El Camino sends up to 450 HP and 500 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels by way of a rebuilt Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission with a 12-bolt rear end, a limited-slip differential, and 3.31:1 gears. The engine rebuild took place in 2020 and included the replacement of the aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor, and exhaust manifolds. Standard performance equipment includes front disc brakes. The seller reports that the refurbishment efforts included rebuilding the brake booster and control arms, along with replacing the shocks and brake lines.
This sale will include a build sheet, some documentation, and a clean title.

This has been RNM at least twice on another auction site. Comments are always the same, the build sheet is authenticated but that does not mean it has the authentic engine, trans, etc…only that the build sheet is authentic. Seller has always refused to post pics of the numbers. He doesn’t need to sell it but has listed at least 3 times in under a year and results are always close to the same price. Is the reserve in line with previous results now or is this a waste of everyone’s time while seller continues to evade questions and only responds JM authenticated Build Sheet? You have had months to get JM to authenticate the drive train, and it appears you still have not.
Calikid thank you for your bid
This car bid to 185000.00 last time on this site good luck to all and happy thanksgiving
Calikid please look at the build sheet certified by Jerry mcneich as a ls6 engine the pictures are all in the photos if you bid on this car you won’t be disappointed if you want to come see it I would not bid on a car this expensive without seeing it first I flew from Lexington ky to charlotte to see it before I bought it money well spent on the plane ticket good luck hope you end up with it
Jadfarhat the stamping of the block is crucial for the car to bring the money. I’m convinced it is a real LS6 but would like to see a picture of the engine pad. Can you take one and post it? I think it would help the auction tremendously.
Bid in the amount of $30,000

I did not see the Jerry Macneish report verifying the stamping on the block ,transmission, rear end #s and others
has this info been posted?
According to the build sheet yes and it’s a Muncie rock crusher transmission
Is the engine number matching?
Additional information on this car the build sheet was certified by Jerry mcneich it was ordered by the original owner as stripe delete and no cowl induction which is very rare it’s in the ls6 directory please read all the documentation on this car thanks again looking forward to an exciting auction
