Produced for one year only, the Porsche 911E 2.0 was built upon a long wheelbase chassis and was positioned second to the top-tier 911S in Porsche’s model range featuring a fuel-injected engine, ventilated disc brakes, premium trim, and Fuchs alloy wheels. This example is one of 858 Targa versions produced and comes finished in White over a black interior. The car features an upgraded 2.7-liter engine and is said to have been under the care of the same owner since 1999. This 911E was treated to major recent service and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida accompanied by an extensive collection of records.

This 911E shares premium exterior equipment with the 911S including wider rubber trim strips, bumperettes with rubber overriders, aluminum rocker moldings, and gold rear badging. This Targa is finished in white with a removable black roof panel, dual mirrors, and polished 15” Fuchs alloy wheels with colored Porsche crests and newly mounted Pirelli P6000 tires. The seller notes the car was previously refinished in its original color and some minor cosmetic imperfections are present including a few small yellow spots on the hood and a small paint chip on the rear decklid grille. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is lined with charcoal carpeting and features black leather seats with basketweave pattern inserts and matching door panels. The dashboard is decorated with engine-turned aluminum trim and houses heater controls as well as an aftermarket radio. Accessories include a black leather four-spoke steering wheel, aluminum door sill guards, a Porsche crested shift knob, manual window rollers, polished seat brackets, aftermarket door speakers, and a carpet dashboard cover. An imperfection is noted on the passenger-side dashboard and the seller reports all gauges and electrical features are working properly.

Power comes from a fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine that drives the rear wheels by way of a Type 901 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes an upgraded oil cooler was installed to support the larger engine and a full service was completed in preparation for sale including new batteries, spark plugs, fuel & air filters, ignition wires, a distributor cap & rotor, a refurbished fuel pump, and an oil change.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, a binder of service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Please note there is a full binder of service records from 1999. This car drives amazingly well and is mechanically sound needing nothing more than a driver. The 2.7L engine provides a super fun driving experience while maintaining the ultra-classic look of a pre-70 911.”

Good Morning what's the condition of the dash and also condition of floor pans?

  • witz (registered bidder) 1 year, 4 monthsago

I love these early Targas, they have that classic look.
That the later car lack. There is nothing like taking off the top and going for a drive in the evening.. I would be bidding on this one If I already didn’t have a 70’ E targa.
