Marking the final year of the first-generation Chevrolet Camaro, the iconic 1969 model was heavily redesigned with a lower, wide stance and a more aggressive V-shaped grille. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe is the subject of a rebuild commenced by a previous owner including an upgraded 454ci Big Block V8 crate motor, a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 4.11 gears. Purchased by the current owner about 10 years ago who completed the project, this Camaro is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This Camaro has been refinished in red with black rally stripes. Equipment includes a front valence with integrated driving lights, a front air dam, a cowl induction hood, Z/28 badging, dual chrome mirrors, a chrome fender-mounted antenna, a rear spoiler, dual tailpipes, and chrome 15” Cragar wheels dressed in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. The seller notes the car has been garage-kept and describes the exterior to be in very good condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The original black vinyl interior includes front bucket seats, lap belts, a three-spoke steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, a column-mounted tachometer, console-mounted auxiliary gauges, Z/28-logo floor mats, and a Chevrolet-branded radio. The seller notes the factory air-conditioning system has been updated, the odometer is inoperable, and the fuel level sending unit will be replaced before the next owner’s purchase.
Power comes from a replacement 454ci Big Block V8 crate engine paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, a heavy-duty clutch, and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 4.11 gears. An additional coolant reservoir has been installed, and the valve covers and intake manifold have been chrome-plated. The seller indicates minor oil seepage at the front crankshaft seal.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a registration.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the car in 2010 from a seller in Cape Cod who was rebuilding the car and had run out of money. spent the next year finishing up his work. removed some racing parts and front coil springs to make it a street car. Chromed out the engine and updated the A/C. The car has been garage-kept since I have owned it. The yearly maintenance was just completed. It runs and sounds great.”
