Initially delivered at Estes-Zipper Motor Co. of Beverly Hills, California, this 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe is said to have spent much of its time with a local owner. Refinished in red over black upholstery with custom tartan cloth inserts, it features a factory-optional electric sunroof and pairs a 4-speed manual gearbox with its 1.6-liter flat-four engine. Modifications include flared fenders, 15” Maxlite wheels, a Continental head unit, and more. This 912 is now being offered for auction by its seller on behalf of the owner out of California.
Factory specified in Irish Green, this 912 was reportedly stripped to bare metal and refinished in red during the 1990s. Notable features include pop-out rear quarter windows, chrome trim, and a factory-optional electric sunroof. Modifications include a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, LED exterior lighting, integrated front fog lights, 911S-style rocker trim, and 15” Maxlite Fuchs-style wheels with Vredestein Quatrac tires. Front-end damage is said to have been repaired in the early 1980s at a cost of approximately $1,900, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features black leatherette upholstery with custom tartan cloth seat inserts. Equipment includes front seat head restraints, lap and shoulder belts, a wood-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, a heater, and an aftermarket Continental head unit. A dashboard-mounted switch has been added for the primer pump, and the clock is currently not working. The five-digit odometer displays 63k miles and has reportedly rolled over at least once, while Approximately 500 miles have reportedly been driven under current ownership.
Power is provided by a 1.6-liter flat-four engine delivering up to 90 HP and 90 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. The engine was rebuilt in 1979, and compression test results are available in the gallery. An independent suspension supports both the front and rear, with stopping power supplied by four-wheel disc brakes.
This sale will include a clean title, sales literature, and some service documentation. The original seats and chrome steel wheels will also accompany the sale.
The seller would like you to know: “Even though the car is not a true stock 68, it is a number matching car with 99% of the purchase and service documentation. This includes original purchase agreement, import documentation and warranty service records. That is some rare paperwork! The car is a solid, dependable driver, that looks good, drives well and nothing to do to it, but enjoy.”

I hope the saying is true "nothing happens in the last five minutes"!
I hope the saying is true, "nothing happens until the last 10 minutes" because we are in the final hours. I must say that this adventure is less time consuming than BaT. I will be by the desktop from now until close of auction. If you have any questions, fire away. If you want to talk personally on the phone, use the contact seller button above and I'll provide you number to call. Let's get this car sold. Good luck to you all.

@356Cabbie Hey man, gotta shoot your shot!
@bradtompkins0112
It is a solid price for the car . Plus you take into consideration that its was a one owner California car with all the service records from the day one when purchased, including original invoice, import papers etc. You don't see cars with this kinda of paper trail to often. Looking at the total package , its pretty unique. Just have to wait 4 more days to see!

@Damaho912 eh Alot of them do sell, and often for more than the "bid too"
@Damaho912 - Back in the day BaT would put both seller & buyer together via email to see if a deal could be made. Now they give only the high bidder the opportunity to reach out to the seller within the BaT platform. The seller loses any chance to negotiate a deal. I get that BaT wants to secure funds from a deal made, but why cut out the other half of the equation. We were getting real close at the auction and I thought a deal could be reached after close, but the "new business" model didn't allow that to happen. This is a great "every day" car, solid, drives great and looks good.
