First introduced in 1960, the International Scout was designed as a competitor of the Jeep in the emerging 4x4 recreational vehicle market. This 1966 International Scout 800 underwent a full custom rebuild in 2022 by Velocity Modern Classics in Florida and was finished in the popular Porsche color of Chalk over a Ferrari Red leather interior. Custom modifications include 3-layer acoustic sound-dampening material, a custom sound system, added storage, and a vintage A/C system with powder-coated dash vents along with numerous mechanical upgrades. Powered by a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine along with a 4-Speed Atlas Transfer Case, this one-of-one International Scout 800 is available for auction by its seller out of New York.
Velocity Modern Classics was commissioned to completely refinish this Scout in the modern Porsche hue of Chalk. Modifications include RIGID LED backlit headlights, taillights, and custom-designed lenses as well as RIGID backlit front and rear fog lights. Ring Brothers custom side and rearview mirrors are equipped as well. This Scout rides on Method wheels that come wrapped in 295x70x17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. A collection of additional images are provided in the photo gallery.
The custom interior has red leather upholstery with hand stitching and a custom armrest along with a bodycolor-matching Chalk dash. Additional modifications include a Tuffy Console, hidden in-console magnetic storage compartment, custom sound system, Morel Vitus Nano Carbon ultra-slim mount speakers, SoundSkins Pro 3-layer acoustic sound-dampening material, Dakota Digital Gauges, and a vintage A/C system with powder-coated dash vents. All gauges and electronics are reported to be functioning properly.
Riding on a Velocity-exclusive chassis, this Scout is powered by a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine, and all four wheels are driven by way of a new 4-Speed Atlas transmission. Stopping power is applied by hydro boost-assisted Wilwood disc brakes. Additional modifications include a 3" Magnaflow High-Performance Exhaust, 4-link coil-over suspension kit, 9" Double adjustable AFCO pro shocks, Dana 44” Front Axle, Dana 60” Rear Axle, and Concept One Serpentine System with Turn One power steering system.
This sale will include two keys, a clean title, and a safari cover.
The seller would like you to know: “I’ve been building this for 5 years, almost half a million in. 1 of 1 totally custom. Velocity did restoration which they are no longer doing, one of the last to be done.”

@BOOOM the roof does come off, I never took it off to pop the seals. I want it to stay fresh..
@BOOOM I don’t have receipt I got chain of emails of what I paid what else I need to pay etc. I know I’m
Not going to get what I put into the build that’s what happens when you restore something.
@seller - another question: does the roof clip off? If so, any pics of it without the roof?
@seller - any build receipts you could share from Velocity would be immensely helpful. Also, do you have any horsepower/torque ratings? Gorgeous build!

@wonk it was mostly the metal work, we started project in 2018 finished it in 2022. It was a complete of the chassi restoration.
$500k in? Do you have the build receipts from velocity ? Wild because an icon 4x4 scout wouldn’t even cost that much from Ward. Wondering what made this build that high.
