This 1964 Porsche 356C Coupe was sold new to its first owner in Los Angeles and was restored during the early 2000s in the current combination of Aubergine over black. Benefitting from considerable recent maintenance, this numbers matching 356C is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
This 356C received a glass-out repaint in the distinctive Porsche color of Aubergine (025) during the early 2000s and the seller notes the original floors and jack points were retained along with the front and rear windshields, glass headlights, and turn signals. The car rides on a set of KPZ chrome wheels dated from 1963 with older metric radial tires. A few small scratches and chips are noted, although the finish is described to be in very good condition otherwise.
The cabin was lined with new black leather upholstery and matching headliner earlier in 2022 while new German square weave carpeting was installed during the initial restoration. The original rubber mat, sun visors, and steering wheel are all said to have been retained and the seller reports the gauges and accessories are working properly.
Up to 75 HP is sent to the rear wheels from an air-cooled 1,600cc flat-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Recent mechanical work is said to include the installation of a new master cylinder, spark plugs, points, oil, and rebuilt disc brake calipers. The original Zenith carburetors were also rebuilt along with the fuel system including the installation of new fuel lines and cleaning/sealing of the original fuel tank.
This sale will include some documentation and the original owner’s manuals.

Thanks for the kind words fellas! The color is absolutely perfect for a 356. Sadly it was never offered. Guaranteed to be the only Aubergine 356 at the current moment. I can't promise that it won't catch on and you see a lot more. And yes, it runs and sounds great!
Wow. What a beauty!
Color is absolutely transfixing. Engine sounds great.
Watching with great interest, perfect color
