This 1963 Porsche 356B 1600 Super Cabriolet is finished in Black over a tan leather interior and equipped with a 1600cc “Super” engine producing up to 75 HP. The car is said to have remained with its original owner in Salt Lake City up until 1977 when it was acquired by the previous owner who maintained the car in Utah prior to the seller’s acquisition in March 2023. It underwent a restoration in 1984 and received an engine-out service in 2020 including a new clutch and flywheel. Accompanied by its original Kardex, this final-year 356B is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Nevada.
This 356B features T6 Cabriolet bodywork in Black with a matching convertible top and boot cover. The car is said to have been refinished in Black from its original Heron Grey color in 1984. It features chrome-trimmed bumpers, headlight rings, door handles, and window moldings along with a polished driver’s side mirror, a twin-grille rear decklid, gold model lettering, and 15” slotted steel wheels with chrome Porsche-crested hubcaps. A set of new Vredestein tires was mounted in October 2022 with less than 100 miles driven since. The seller notes the paintwork shows some signs of age and areas of cracking, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin was reupholstered in tan leather during the restoration in 1984 along with the installation of matching German square weave carpets. Accessories include a black three-spoke steering wheel with a Porsche-crested horn button, a painted dashboard, a locking glovebox, an analog quartz clock, and a vintage Bendix Sapphire II AM/FM radio. The seller indicates signs of wear on the driver’s seat bolster and confirms all gauges and accessories are working properly.
The air-cooled 1,600cc flat-four engine was rated at 75 HP and sends power to the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual gearbox. The seller notes the CV boots were replaced in 2013 along with rebuilds of the carburetors, the fuel pump was replaced in 2018 in addition to new shifter bushings, and a major engine-out service was completed in 2020 including new gaskets, transaxle boots, a new tachometer cable, clutch, and flywheel.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, extensive documentation, and a clean title.

Nice looking driver, I wonder if Gen X and the millennial buyer will be interested in a 75 hp car. Before 2020 these were slipping in price but like everything else got traction after Covid. I’ve always wanted a convertible after owning two sunroof versions but were always a little out of my reach. I’ll be curious to see where this one lands. GLWTA nothing like the smell and ride of a 356. She deserves a spot at your local cars and coffee.

Hi guys, FYI the car is going to the shop Tuesday to have the front bumper aligned..my guys never told me about it & i made an appointment at the eye doctor to have their eyes checked LOL
Bid in the amount of $35,600
You say "look at pics" to answer all my questions about rust...all I can see from the pics is, it looks like the floor pan has been replaced (indicating rust has been there), nothing of the wheel wells and little of the frame or rocker panels. I understand corrosion but do you want to elaborate on rust?
@Wildcat77 '
usual oil drips after sitting awhile..wouldn't be a Porsche otherwise..as far as rust & anything not working, look at pics & read description, this will answer all your questions
@giant im not sure why its tilted ? maybe tapped something ..i will have my guys take a look, maybe easy adjustment
Front bumper appears to slant downward. Any damage to front of car or bumper? Please comment as to downrd tilt of front bumper. Thanks.
Like archeologic relics the tattered remains of the cable straps still hang under the car never removed at the end of their useful life.
Bid in the amount of $25,000
Looks like a nice driver! I have 3 questions if you would:
