After collaborating with Allgaier in 1949, Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH was formed in 1956, becoming the second most popular tractor manufacturer in West Germany. Produced from 1960 to 1963, the Porsche-Diesel Standard T217 tractor featured an air-cooled twin-cylinder engine, an oil bath air filter, a triple-bearing crankshaft, and a radial cooling fan. This 1961 example, chassis 3349, is finished in red with light yellow accents and benefits from a comprehensive, engine-out, frame-off restoration. This T217 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
Benefitting from a frame-off, engine-out restoration, this T217 has been refinished in red accented by a light-yellow painted seat, and wheels. Equipment includes a rear-hinged bonnet, Porsche-Diesel badging, headlights and taillights, rear marker lights, rear half fenders, high-exit exhaust, and five/six-lug wheels. Additionally, two hydraulically controlled workspaces are situated between the rear axles, with the additional ability to equip a front loader and a mower. The seller notes this tractor has been treated to a full frame-off, and engine-out restoration, and a 3-spoke steering wheel is mounted in front of the spring-suspended operator’s seat, which is painted in light yellow. Powered by a 1,374cc twin-cylinder diesel engine, the T217 sends up to 18 HP to the rear wheels through a Getrag 4-speed manual transmission. A full mechanical restoration is said to have been carried out and there are no outstanding maintenance items reported by the seller
