Up for auction is this 1961 Porsche 356B T5 Coupe finished in Light Ivory over a Black interior.  Debuted in autumn of 1959, the 356 “B” generation featured revised bodywork and a 1600cc flat-four engine rated at 60 HP.  Originally sold new in France, this 356 was recently purchased by the seller from its longtime owner in Maine.  This driver’s grade 1961 example highlights its correct factory specified color combination, an upgraded Abarth exhaust system and a collection of service records dating back to the 1980’s.  It is now being offered in great running order by its seller in Maine.

In 1993, this coupe underwent a full respray in its factory specified color of Light Ivory.  Invoices for the respray are included with the car and the seller indicates the paint to be in good overall condition with some patina and imperfections which are detailed in the photo gallery.  The original chrome brightwork presents nicely, although there is some wear on the bumper guards.  An aftermarket side view mirror is installed, and the original steel wheels have been recently restored and dressed in new Hankook tires.

Inside, the Black interior is shown to be in good condition with some signs of wear and a tear located on one of the rear seats.  The steering wheel has been re-covered and the Charcoal square-weave carpeting is said to have been redone at the time of the respray.  The fuel gauge and radio are currently inoperable; however, all other gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

A 1600cc flat-four engine sends approximately 60 HP stock to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox.  An upgraded Abarth quad-outlet exhaust system has been installed and the engine is reported to have been rebuilt in 1989 with supporting invoices available for reference.

A large collection of service records are included and this 356 is said to be in great driving condition with a recent oil change.

This sale will be accompanied by 1 master key, service records and a spare tire.  Do not miss your chance to own a beautiful driver’s-grade Porsche 356.

@flashnine1974 The state of Maine does not title cars produced prior to 1994. The car is being sold with a signed State of Maine registration and a notarized bill of sale. All of the state motor vehicle departments have a book that tells them the various title laws of other states. As an example, I registered a Maine car in Florida using the same paperwork with no issues. Florida titles everything regardless of year of manufacture.

@TheBaron The only rust I can find on the car is in the battery box area. There are two small areas on the right vertical side and one similar spot on the left vertical side. I will upload three pictures showing the areas in question. The floors, longitudinals, rockers, front axle beam, and rear torsion tube are all in good condition. Thank you for your question.

Conspicuously absent in this brief description is the subject of rust.....floorpans......Torsion tubes, battery box, rockers, etc. etc. I’m fairly certain that would/will be a primary concern for all interested/potential bidders??
