Produced from 1955 to 1963, the Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a two-door luxury roadster that offered a stylish and more affordable alternative to its sister car, the iconic 300SL. This 1962 example is finished in White over a black leather interior and is equipped with a 1.9-liter M121 inline-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car underwent refurbishment in 2005 and was purchased by the current owner in 2014. It has since been fitted with Weber side draft carburetors and Bilstein front shocks along with services including rust repair, a new steering wheel, shift knob, turn signals, body seals, a new fuel pump, fuel lines, and a battery tray coolant bypass pipe. This classic Mercedes-Benz roadster is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

The 190SL shares styling cues with the 300SL, including its long hood, short rear deck, front grille design, and distinctive wheel arch flares. This example was refinished in its original White (50G) paint color in 2005. It features a black convertible soft top, chrome bumpers, dual chrome mirrors, a fender-mounted antenna, a polished tailpipe, and 13” steel wheels with body-colored hubcaps and Maxis MA-1 whitewall tires from 2020. Since 2019, the car received rust treatment in the trunk, inner rear fenders, and footwells, along with refinishing the door jambs, inner doors, and underside of the hood. The body seals, window felts, door rubbers, trunk emblem, turn signals, and outer rocker trim were replaced as well. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin was redone with new black leather upholstery in 2005, while the carpets and floor mats were replaced in 2025. It features a body-colored dashboard fascia, a white two-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a dashboard-mounted clock, a locking glovebox, a loudspeaker, and a Becker Europa radio. The steering column was painted under current ownership along with replacement of the steering wheel, shift knob, door armrests, mirror glass, left heater box, and seatback leather. Service records note a crack in the right heater box and leaks from the windshield seal.

Power comes from a 1.9-liter M121 inline-four engine that was reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment in 2005. It drives the rear wheels through a synchronized 4-speed manual transmission. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones in front and swing axles at the rear. Under its current ownership since 2019, the car was fitted with Weber side draft carburetors and new Bilstein front shocks. The battery tray coolant bypass pipe was also replaced, along with the fuel pump and fuel lines. A service record from 2020 notes that the radiator requires repair.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.

    Hi everyone,
This 190SL is a great looking car and it runs great. A lot of work was done to it. The previous owner has maybe close to $160,000 into that car. Some basic work was done by Palm Beach Classics, but not the restoration. It was done by Heritage Classic in CA. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. There is NO hard top, the soft top is new. Happy Bidding!
