Produced from 1953 to 1962, the C1 is the original Chevrolet Corvette. The 1961 model was the first to receive a newly introduced boat tail with double taillights and the last to feature an iconic contrasting finish within the coved front fenders and doors. Equipped with a 350ci V8 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission, this example was refinished in a custom combination of blue and silver over a gray leather interior. This classic American sports car has been restored and modified under the care of a previous owner and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
This Corvette features a restored fiberglass body which was refinished in the current shade of blue with silver coves under previous ownership. Details include quad headlights, faux fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets, along with chrome trim along the front grille, split bumpers, light surrounds, and driver's side mirror. It rides on gray-finished American Racing 17” wheels dressed in Westlake SA-07 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The driver is situated within a gray leather interior with reupholstered bucket seats, dashboard trim, and door panels. Equipment includes manually-operated windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a Lokar shifter, lap belts, a passenger grab handle, a Pioneer stereo, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and an air conditioning system.
Beneath the hood lies a 350ci Chevrolet V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and finned aluminum valve covers. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic Powerglide transmission. Performance features include power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes with rear drums. Service items are said to include a rebuild of the starter, replacements to the wheel cylinders, transmission pan gasket, engine oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets along with an oil change.
This sale will include a clean title.

@bbjorkquist In picture #13 the top is not closed entirely, The photographer was putting the top up and down during the photo shoot and didn't clip the back down . The top functions and seals as it should. That said, even from new, you wouldn't want to go through a car wash.
Any leaks, or issues to be aware of? I've always liked the single headlight and single contrast color cove from the side fender of a pre-61, but this looks good too.
Is that a gap in the back of the top, in the shot where it is on? How water-tight is it, or is this mainly for taking out on a sunny day?

@bbjorkquist No problem to import back into USA, it is USA goods returning so no fees, and older than 25 years. Happy to assist with this I have done it many times and have all the right contacts to make it happen easily for you.
Good Luck.
I’ve bought out of state before but not out of country. Anyone know of additional import taxes and if this could be registered in California?

Hello Bidders & Watchers, welcome to my auction on this 1961 Corvette Convertible, this is a beautiful car to look at and drive.
I will be here and will do my best to answer all questions.
Thanks and enjoy the Auction.
Sorry, I see the black top in one picture but it is hard to tell condition/operation. Why are the windows up? Do the operate properly along with everything else?
Electronic ignition or standard old distributor with points?
Does this have a top of any kind? What transmission and what kind of suspension?
