Produced in June of 1960, this Porsche 356B 1600 Coupe left the factory wearing T5 Reutter bodywork finished in Ruby Red. It was acquired by the seller from a PCA member in Texas who had previously commissioned a full rotisserie restoration and top-end engine refresh along with an all-new interior. Supported by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this numbers matching 356B Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
This T5 Coupe is said to have been refinished in its factory-specified color of Ruby Red during the restoration under prior ownership. New floor pans were installed at this time and the seller suspects other body panels may have been replaced during the restoration as well. Some minor imperfections are noted in the paint and the seller has indicated no signs of rust throughout the bodywork. It rides on chromed 15” slotted steel wheels with enamel Porsche-crested Super hubcaps and Falken tires.
The cabin has been redone with black leatherette upholstery, new square weave carpeting, and a set of custom red Coco mats lining the footwells. There was no radio equipped from the factory, the ashtray is missing, and the seller notes the original steering wheel has been retained.
Rated at 75 HP, the air-cooled 1,600cc flat-four engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 4-speed manual gearbox. A top-end engine overhaul is said to have been completed under prior ownership and the seller notes routine services and oil changes have been carried out with supporting records accompanying the sale.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.

@jay993 No answers for that.
When I purchased the car, it came that way.
Don’t know how relevant that is
Economic decline is hitting these online auctions. Interesting.
#s matching but wrong engine tin and painted shiny silver? Can you elaborate?

@Spinway57 Thank you for your questions
The Brakes are good, they were reworked a few years ago.
The gear box is good and the bushing for the stick probably can be replaced at some point
It shifts very well
I’ll try to upload some more under carriage picture.

Hope this helps.
