This 1958 Porsche 356 Speedster replica is finished in black over a red interior. Acquired by its seller in 2022, this example is said to have been upgraded with a new CB Performance engine and interior components throughout 2021 and is now being offered for auction showing just over 11k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in black and includes gold Porsche 1600 Super badging, dual front fog lights, a single driver-side mirror, teardrop taillights, and a set of silver-finished 15” Wide-Five alloy wheels with chrome hubcaps dressed in Cooper tires. The seller notes the finish remains in very good condition aside from minor paint swirl marks.
The cabin is trimmed in red upholstery and features a pair of low-back bucket seats and matching carpeting below, contrasted with a black upper dashboard. Details include a gold-finished Porsche insignia, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and VDO instrumentation. The seller notes that the interior has been reupholstered in 2021. The A/C compressor and radio have been removed, although the speakers remain in place.
This Speedster replica comes equipped with a 2,100cc CB Performance motor installed in 2021 which sends power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that the motor was installed at a cost of $20k and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time. The original builder of this replica is unknown.
This sale will include a clean 1966 Volkswagen title.

@RandR @c9c the rest of the AC is still in tact and just needs to install the compressor.
As for the undercarriage, unfortunately I do not and the car is at home, so I am unable to take any photos prior to auction ending.
Was the compressor the only part of the A/C system removed? Is under dash unit, condenser etc still in place? Any pics of undercarriage/pan area? Thanks

@Flyman615 the AC compressor was removed when the motor was upgraded. The original compressor is available, but will need to have a bracket installed and can’t confirm if it’s compatible with the motor or not. The radio was removed as I did not like the appearance of it, but the wiring is still there and just need to plug into a new radio.
Why were the A/C and radio removed? Are the removed components included in the sale?
Thanks!

@finnmx5 I don’t have the information on the actual build, so unfortunately I’m unable to provide that. I do have the receipts for the motor upgrade that I can upload.
What year was car manufactured? Is there documentation on the $20k engine build. Who manufactured the car?.
@928GTS @928GTS, no scuff marks on the dash, it’s just the reflection. Was a very sunny day. As for the top, I didn’t take any as I don’t use it, but it is a brand new top. Yes the tonneau cover, it’s the one in the photo. It also comes with a cabin cover that covers the passenger side, to create a cockpit feel and a car cover.
Ref photo 39, are those scuff marks on the dash or just a reflection. Also, any photos with the top up and is there a tonneau cover?
@BestCAR it’s titled as a ‘66 VW Beetle.
Hi - cool car. :-) How is this Speedster Titled? As a VW Type 1, or...?

Hello all, welcome to the auction for my 1958 Speedster. For those of you that do know these vehicles, they are extremely fun to drive! I purchased this Speedster last year and drive it at least four days a week and runs extremely well. I am only selling as I have recently changed jobs, and not only will I not be able to drive it as much, I also don't have a space to park it at my building anymore, so don't want to put it in storage.
If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask away :)
