The MG TD represented an evolution from the earlier MG TC, incorporating advancements like the hypoid rear axle, rack and pinion steering, and independent front suspension for enhanced ride and handling. This 1952 example reportedly underwent extensive refurbishment by BMC Restorations in Kiln, Mississippi, during previous ownership and has been predominantly stored in a climate-controlled garage. Powered by a 1,250cc inline-four engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, it has been refinished in blue over a tan leather interior. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this restored MG TD is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.

This example is finished in blue and was repainted in 2007 under prior ownership. Notable exterior features include a soft top and top boot, a folding windshield, running boards, grille slats, Lucas driving lights, reverse-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, and chrome-finished bumpers with overriders and luggage rack. It rides on 15” steel wheels with polished hubcaps fitted with tires reportedly in very good condition, accompanied by a matching spare mounted at the rear. The seller states an absence of rust, dents, or scratches on the paint, the chrome exhibits no pitting or oxidation, and the tonneau cover is in excellent condition. The cabin presents a split-bench seat upholstered in tan leather that extends to the door panels contrasted with black carpets. Amenities comprise lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a glovebox, and door pockets. I will miss touring the north shore on crisp fall days but I have recently retired and it is time for me to move on. It is a very special English sports car and I will miss her.”
