Jaguar’s first post-war sports car, the aluminum-bodied XK120 was named for its 120-mph top speed, making it one of the world’s fastest production cars at the time. It was equipped with a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six engine and was produced from 1948 until 1954 with just over 12,000 examples built in total. This 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster was originally imported by Hoffman Motors in New York and is said to have been purchased by the family of Pollack Auto Restoration in Pennsylvania, who restored the car in the 1990s. Having been serviced and equipped with an upgraded aluminum radiator in 2022, this classic British sports car is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This Jaguar was reportedly disassembled, stripped, and refinished in white during the restoration in 1994 with a replacement tan soft top. Equipment includes a split windscreen, split chrome front bumpers, rear bumperettes, dual fender-mounted mirrors, rear wheel covers, and body-colored 16” steel rims with chrome trim rings and Jaguar logo hubcaps. The seller indicates a paint crack near the passenger rear wheel and some scratches on the deck near the rear window. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been restored with red leather upholstery and matching carpets. Accessories include a padded dashboard, a black flour-spoke steering wheel, and Smiths instrumentation with a reverse-sweeping tachometer. The gauges were previously rebuilt and the car’s true mileage is unknown.
Equipped with dual SU carburetors and polished cam covers, the 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six engine delivers up to 160 HP to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine and gearbox are said to have been rebuilt during the restoration. A 2022 service invoice from Auto Sport Designs Inc. shows new valve cover gaskets installed along with an upgraded aluminum radiator, a new water pump, thermostat, heater hoses, fan blade, belt, an oil change, and some other repairs.
This sale will include some service records and a transferrable New York registration.

👍
@1Jostens when it wants to. I never know what I’m going to get. It’s not bothered me enough to fix.
@1Jostens it’s been replaced this time last year, with what I was told the best alternative. The shop is local, and very well may have the original. I will call tomorrow and see.
Do you have the original radiator?
Does the tac work?

These are iconic sportscars. Although 70 years old, it's amazing how well they perform. 0-60 in 10 seconds was tremendous in 1950, as well as over 120 mph. It was the fastest production car in the world when introduced, and the basic drivetrain won lemans twice with their c type.

@SDigi7007 Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the Jaguar has side curtains that attach to the door with the chrome hardware on the interior of the doors. They are in perfect condition.
Does car have side windows that attach to doors and slide to open?
@krinkle1980 You're welcome but don't think anyone in their right mind would sell this for $3,300!

@SDigi7007 The car is physically at PCAR Market. I have asked them to upload another picture of the skirt/spat from the passenger side. Yes we have both and they are in great condition. Thank you
@SDigi7007 Thank you for your question. Yes, you are correct. This is a steel body with aluminum hood, trunk, doors and skirts (spats) the opening description was an overall intro to the car itself from inception.
I have bid $3,300.00 for this beautiful car. Would someone bid over me as I really don't want this car or any Jaguar for that matter. If I do win I will just put it in my living room as it is good looking. Thank you if you are the one that out bids me.
Also the ad states an aluminum body. It was my understanding that only the first 200 Silverstone XK-120's were all aluminum(I owned one) and all production models were steel with aluminum hood, trunk, doors and skirts. Is that the case with this car. Is the wood infrastructure all intact?
Why is there no driver's side rear fender skirt shown in any photo? Do you have both skirts?
