Ruf has always been known for high quality performance builds.  This RCT EVO is no exception.   The car started it's life as a factory Porsche Carrera 4.  This Blueprinted Ruf started life as a 964 model, making it an even more desirable edition.

The Ruf technician was stationed at Weissach Performance in Vancouver BC for the entire build.  Ruf built a fully fortified 3.6 turbo engine to RCT EVO specifications producing 425hp at a cost of nearly $50K (engine alone). The G/50 transmission is the perfect mate for the turbo thrust.

Suspension, brakes, and cooling have been fully upgraded to RCT EVO spec as well.  This includes: Ruf Coilover Suspension, Bilsteins, sway bars, Ruf big brake kit (turbo brake upgrade), Oil Cooler upgrade, and a lowered euro spec ride height.  The result of this work provides for a great handling sports car with a visceral driving experience. The RCT EVO is still so popular around the world that Ruf continues to build them today.

The guards red paint is in excellent condition as the gallery photos show. The car has Ruf wheels (F 8.5 X 18” / R 10 X 18”) with newer tires that were installed last year.

The black interior is all Ruf business and features the incredible Ruf sport seats, Ruf steering wheel w/ airbag, Ruf pedal bar/pedal set, and Ruf carpets and running boards. The radio has been upgraded to the Porsche Classic radio, providing the new owner with modern necessities such as GPS/ Sirius XM, etc.  All electronics such as power roof, windows and mirrors, work as they should. The Air conditioning is cold and the heater works nicely.

This Ruf had a recent engine out reseal and new RS clutch installed by Turn3 in Canada. The car also had a recent leak down test and major service.  Receipts and invoices can be viewed in the photo gallery.

Ruf:  To paraphrase the well-known saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” the same applies to a popular concept: if it’s still popular, don’t stop making it. The RCT is still a popular and cherished RUF model, and therefore we are still building it. The charm of the air-cooled, single turbo flat-six that behaves in a similar way to a big displacement normally aspirated engine, continues to beguile Ruf enthusiasts the world over. It’s this traditional simplicity, as well as the summation of a host of small details that might normally be overlooked, that make the RCT such an attractive proposition to sports car buffs.

@rsierra No one is denying that, I've had both. What I'm comparing is the ruf vin car sold for close to 400k. Very few cars have w09, half of the CTR yellow birds were none w09s because owners then didn't want problems with re import. This is 250k cheaper...

  • rsierra (registered bidder) 5 years, 7 monthsago

@rmcmiami The car you reference from symbolic motors has a RUF VIN, the car you are selling does not. You're comparing apples to oranges. You are selling a conversion not a true Ruf VIN car. Frankly the title on the ad is misleading. I have a true Ruf VIN car, it has a Ruf certificate of origin, an integrated roll cage, and was assembled from a "body in white" at the Ruf factory.

The car you are selling was assembled at the Porsche factory and then was modified using Ruf parts, huge difference.

  • rmcmiami (seller) 5 years, 7 monthsago

@rsierra @rsierra The last naturally aspirated w09 rc4 ruf 964 which is essentially the same exact car with a rebuilt 964 3.6 NA engine sold for $390k at symbolic motors, Most ruf conversion done in period correct times now have ruf gauges and have the same exact mileage, just restored to look new and rolled the clock back.

We sold a rc4 cabriolet non w09 with 100k km then ruf gauges installed and another 40k miles on that clock for $90k that symbolic also ended up with. Convertible... naturally aspirated..

If you reached out to do a RCT EVO with RUF the quote is 300k Euro providing your own 964, I think that you may be behind on the RUF market by a couple years. Our reserve is realistic, like it was mentioned earlier below.. a non w09 RCT sold for $235k earlier this year.

@rsierra From the description and the paperwork provided by the seller, this car was built by Ruf. I have seen Ruf VIN cars going for astronomical figures (they are worth them). I think that it is a matter of availability and also how relevant Ruf is in the Porsche world. The winner is going to be a very lucky person.

  • rsierra (registered bidder) 5 years, 7 monthsago

@993CupRSR I would agree on $200k if it is a RUF VIN car. This is a conversion with a Porsche VIN and very high mileage. It's hard to put a value on it, but I'd say it's well below $200k. Assuming the RUF parts are available, you could buy a nice lower mile 964 and convert it for probably less than $200k.

@993CupRSR agree. there's def a RUF enthusiast out there that wants a RUF to Actually drive and this is perfect for that

  • 993CupRSR (registered bidder) 5 years, 7 monthsago

Very cool car! I have experienced a few Ruf cars over the years and they always amaze me. The narrow body 964 based cars are in my opinion fast, light and nimble, paired to the Ruf craftsmanship and engineering. Easy a $200K car all day based on the what I have seen in the market, maybe we will be surprised with a lower reserve than that. Whoever wins the bid will take a great car home!

Maybe it’s time for Ruf! Ive always liked them but never drove one... until 2 months ago. I was in Scottsdale earlier this year and was chatting with a guy who was bidding on a Ruf. He was explaining to me how memorable they are and that you need to drive one to understand. I had the opportunity to do it a few weeks later and wow! I’ve seen them sell for way more than I’m willing to pay (300+) so let’s see what happens here.

As an owner of a Ruf BTR, they are very limited and special Porsche's. This 964 being a non Ruf Vin no#, someone should get a very nice 911.

Awesome car! If you haven’t driven a Ruf, you won’t understand why they are so valuable. This car is a great way to get in without spending major big $$. I hope the reserve is reasonable.

  • luketesh 5 years, 7 monthsago

@Matts me too. do you notice an increase in RUF popularity lately? feel like there's been a little spike.
