Equipped with the legendary GT1-derived Mezger flat-six engine, the 996 Turbo remains one of the most sought after water-cooled 911’s to date. Purchased by its current owner in 2015, this 2002 996 Turbo comes with $40k in recent service receipts and drives like a brand new car. This stunning example bears 93,300 carefully maintained miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction in great condition by an enthusiast in North Carolina.
Finished in timeless Arctic Silver Metallic, this Turbo features nearly complete original paintwork, with the exception of a partial respray on the front bumper cover. All of the paintwork on this car is in great shape and the exterior exhibits no damages or major imperfections. This 996 rides on flawless, hollow spoke 18” Turbo Twist wheels which are powder coated in metallic silver. These beautiful wheels help preserve the factory look and come wrapped in brand-new ultra-high performance summer tires. The windshield and taillights have been recently replaced and the car now sits on H&R Sport lowering springs. These aftermarket performance springs add some responsiveness to the drive and enhance the car’s appearance with a subtle 1” drop in ride height. Overall, this Turbo’s exterior remains in excellent shape and there are no issues that need to be addressed.
On the inside, this 996 Turbo sports a pristine full black leather interior loaded with desirable features. This interior bears major no imperfections or signs of abuse, truly looking incredible for its age. The seller would like to note that the center console lid is currently stuck, but the car retains full functionality of all other features. Factory options equipped for this originally $120,105 Turbo include heated seats with crested headrests, aluminum instrument dials, and the rear center console in leather. This car was originally equipped with a carbon fiber steering wheel but the owner has replaced it with a genuine Porsche leather steering wheel due to age related wear; however the original wheel will be included in the sale. The current owner has updated the interior with some tasteful aftermarket features that do not spoil this car’s OEM look. These updates include,
Originally used in the legendary 911 GT1 Le Mans cars, the Mezger engine has become known to many enthusiasts as the best water-cooled engine ever developed by Porsche. Featuring a true dry sump and crank driven oil pumps, this engine resists oil surge during the most aggressive cornering. Additionally, the Mezger engine doesn’t suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication. This 996 Turbo’s engine sends 420hp to all four wheels via a crisp 6-speed manual transmission, allowing for a 0-60 time of just 4.2 seconds. This car features a CA Motorsports rebuilt transmission and front differential, which are now under warranty. Among the $40,000 worth of receipts, some critical services can be identified including the replacement of the clutch, accumulator, clutch slave, water pump, expansion tank, and the motor/transmission mounts. Aside from the upgraded Bilstein B6 Struts and H&R springs, this Turbo remains mechanically unmodified and drives as originally intended. With a new battery and fresh service, this very solid Turbo is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.
Included in the sale of this impeccable 2002 Turbo will be all associated documentation, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and car cover as well as the original floor mats, steering wheel, and suspension. This Turbo has a rear wiper delete and features a paint-matched wiper plug, however the original rear wiper will also be included with the car. A clean Carfax report confirms this Turbo as being accident free and well maintained throughout its entire life. Do not miss your chance to own this honest and well-equipped 996 Turbo.

Good morning! In the interest of full disclosure, the writeup refers to the powder coated wheels as ‘flawless ‘. Please note a small nick on one wheel spoke was noted in PPI. I believe another wheel also has a small easy-to-miss nick on a spoke.
Please review PPI docs in gallery closely as they contain many good details.
Car will be washed/waxed and oil/filter changed in preparation for sale.

@mrpcarfan correction the time stamp I mentioned in previous comment should be 6:52.
as of today the odometer is 93,405. Possibly 50 more miles will be added before end of auction, but no more than that!
I noticed in the driving video @ 7:29 the boost gauge holds .7bar for roughly two seconds until I let off the gas. Good for a stock-tune nonX50.

@Chuck246cp forgot to mention there were also a few pricey things I opted to do that weren’t necessary i.e. the new OE windshield and autodim rv mirror in 2017, second OE steering wheel in leather, etc. I just wanted them.
@Chuck246cp See 2 pg spreadsheet in pic gallery. Expected maintenance i.e. rear spoiler pump, water pump, clutch hydraulics, plugs. The transmission was sent to CA Motorsports and after a full inspection they replaced bearings, syncros, seals. They also rebuilt front diff. This work is under limited warranty thru 6/2020. While engine was out, replaced clutch, fuel filter/accumulator, expansion tank, trans mount. All of these parts were still good at time of replacement except trans mount. Just yesterday along with PPI the dealer fixed and re-programmed the second key and also replaced sticky radio buttons!
Hope this answer helps if you need more detail let me know. I have hard copies of all receipts from this spreadsheet.
You say in your summary that you spent 40k on the car. This is significant. What did
