Up for auction is this ultra clean Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet. When first introduced, the 944 S2 was Porsches way of providing a high performance car without the expense of the Turbo version. In fact, the 944 S2 paid homage to the Turbo by using its upgraded suspension and more aggressive cosmetic features. From 1989 to 1991, only a limited 2,402 Cabriolet variants were produced.
The condition of the car is true to its low mileage of 27,676. The unique and rarely seen Baltic Blue is stated to be in excellent condition and shine beautifully. Only a few tiny marks are noted including the front fender, rear bumper and trunk area. In order to keep the exterior of this 944 in the stunning condition seen today, the seller reports that the panel between the headlights was resprayed at some point due to a few minor rock chips. This 944 is equipped with its original 16” alloy wheels that are in excellent condition with no bends or scratches.
The sporty yet luxurious linen interior shows almost no wear visible as the pictures show. The dashboard is fully intact; reminiscent of a brand new car. The 944 S2’s interior is the true definition of a touring car. Featuring an upgraded air conditioning, upgraded Alpine bluetooth head unit, and JBL factory speakers, you can drive with ease while experiencing true Porsche performance.
Power comes from a number matching 3.0 L flat-six engine that produces 211 HP and is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the car seems to have been extremely well maintained by its previous two owners. In 2016, less than 1000 miles ago, this 944 received a new Timing Belt, Water Pump, Balance Shaft Belt, and a recharge of the A/C system. Additionally, a fresh oil change and a PP were just completed this June, making this 944 S2 Cabriolet ready to be driven by its new owner with no apparent needs.
These cars are becoming collectible and are amazing fun to drive with one of the best feeling shifters of almost any transmission I have driven. They are so well balanced and a blast to push around in the turns. This is one of the nicer examples that I have seen in a very rare color combination.
The sale will include a clean Carfax, all books, extensive service records, and keys.

It has taken me some time to get into 944s but now I'm all about them. Such a cool car and really such a different experience altogether that bridges the gap between being just a Porsche guy and a Car guy. What a great example!
@gruppefour the car is located in Lebanon, NJ at my warehouse
Where is the car located?
@superfly Thanks for the positive comment on the car. you are correct about the engine. I apologize and must have missed it in the proof that PCARMARKET sent me to review. Thanks for the clarification.
Great looking 944..... I think the author of the ad got a little carried away cutting and pasting from another Porsche 911 write up? "Power comes from a number matching 3.0 L flat-six engine"..... The 944's have in-line 4 cylinder engines - not flat 6's.
@HOF-Porsche Thanks for your question. The top is actually in excellent condition with no tears of any kind. What I think you are seeing is, the previous owner put a small thin bead of rubber sealant where he said some of the stitching was poking up. I did not ty to remove it, and there is nothing penetrated on the inside of the top, but other than that, it has plenty of life left.
Can the seller comment on the condition of the top?, It looks like it is torn by the rear window....Does it need a new top?
