Up for auction is this 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo. Being 1 of only 1,424 U.S.-specification 911 Turbos built for that model year, this is an opportunity to own a rare piece of Porsche history. The Turbo is known as Porsche's top-of-the-line 911, delivering very impressive performance and technology. This specific example has been in the hands of a well known Porsche collector based out of Texas up until this past year. It now resides at a factory authorized Porsche dealer in Fresno, California and is being offered in turn-key condition.
This Turbo is finished in factory Grand Prix White. The car shows very nicely and the paint is stated to be in above average condition given its age and mileage. The seller noted that there are some rock chips on the car as is to be expected. The front bumper has been upgraded to the Euro look, adding an extra touch to this already beautiful car. The car retains its original factory color matching Fuchs wheels.
The Black partial leather interior is stated to be in excellent condition showing minimal wear. Fitted with the sport touring package, sport seats, and air conditioning, this Turbo represents one of the more exclusive models on the market. All electronics are in working order including the upgraded head unit.
Power comes from a numbers matching 3.3L twin turbocharged engine that is connected to a 4-speed manual transmission. An oxygen sensor and Bosch DMR management system will help the car produce 282HP. Also highlighted on this Turbo is an independent front and rear suspension system and disc brakes w/ cross-drilled rotors.
In 2009, this Turbo was the beneficiary of a complete engine rebuild. The photo gallery includes detailed receipts of all prior work performed. The seller also added that the car has gone through a complete fluid service and safety check by their service department and that the car is turn-key condition.
The sale will include books, a clean Carfax, 2 keys, a binder of documentation, spare tire and tools.
After a six-year absence, the venerable 930 Turbo returned to Porsche line-up for the US in 1986. This is an opportunity to own a staple in the Porsche line up.

@PorSchean great thank you. Can you send me contact info please so I get an idea about cost? I hate to just cold call someone on the other side of the country.
@AAufgang yes we can arrange that. I have relationships with more than a few different shippers.
@PorSchean Would you, as a dealer, be able to arrange transport to NY for the car?

@porschean - I’m trying to bid but PCAR is rejecting the cc authorization. I’ll try to get it sorted out. In the meantime, and I apologize if this is had been addressed, but just to confirm, the car is physically w you in Fresno and not still in TX, correct?
Bid in the amount of $31,500
@JNasty yes I am.
@PorSchean - are you Porsche Fresno, the AD for the area?
@JNasty no cat and no OEM exhaust - vehicle has a Texas title and will need to be registered outside of CA. Vehicle is sold AS-IS. No History on the wheels, assuming the are all original from the factory.
@PorSchean - non OEM intercooler too, yes?
@PorSchean - a few things please: 1) cat on car (see non OEM exhaust), will you commit to providing SMOG pass to CA buyer per law as dealer? 2) Any deviations from stock aside form steering wheel (Turbo S?) and exhaust and lower valence and radio? 3) Are the wheels white per the COA? Or painted later/aftermarket? Thanks.
Cool car. Really love the slantnose front bumper w/ white Fuchs. Would love to pick this up!
@PorSchean -Just trying to be helpful. Am a long time Porsche owner and I do know the history quite well.........
@82turboruf You are correct, single turbo. Twin Turbo was not available until next gen.
@AAufgang Yes, only the internals of the engine was replaced, not the block.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
