Up for auction is this 1969 Porsche 912. With classic styling and the desirable long-hood configuration, this 912 possesses the quintessential Porsche look that is sought after by many collectors. The current owner purchased this car from a customer of the highly respected Porsche builder, ROCS motorsports. The car is stated to be in solid driver condition. A rolling time capsule, this 912 is ready to put a smile on the face of its next driver.
This 912 sports a classic Slate Gray paint job that compliments its styling nicely. The original color of the car is unknown at this time but is suspected to have been Aubergine. The seller states that there are a few minor imperfections in the paintwork but overall shows very well. The chrome-work and badging is fully intact and the windows and rubber seals are in good condition. This car is equipped with Fuchs style wheels that finish off this car’s traditional look.
The interior of this 912 is black with two-tone gray/black partial leather seats. Brand new carpeting has recently been installed, greatly rejuvenating this fifty-year-old car. The seats are in mostly good condition, however, the gray upholstered inserts show some discoloration and wear. The interior of this car has been left unmodified and retains all original features. The dashboard, gauges, trim, and headliner are all in good condition. All electrical components are functional, however, the radio does not work. Over all, this interior shows very well for its age.
What makes this 912 unique is it’s 1.6L 4-Cylinder boxer engine that was sourced from an earlier 356. Fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission, the sensory driving experience offered by this car is pure vintage Porsche. This 912 has been maintained by ROCS motorsports in New Jersey for nearly a decade. There have been no modifications made to this car and it drives as Porsche originally intended. The car has been recently serviced, including the installation of a new drive belt, generator, voltage regulator, and battery.
The 912 was produced for the 1965-69 models years as an entry-level variant of the 911. The 912 is a nimble sports car that was offered in both coupe and targa configurations. Its highly efficient 4-Cylinder boxer engine achieves up to 30mpg while still delivering punchy throttle response. Initially outselling the 911, over 32,000 912’s were built making it a massive success. The following for these cars is as strong as ever with multiple clubs and communities specifically dedicated to everything 912. These cars will forever be an important part of Porsche heritage.
The seller is in the process of securing any service records that may be available from ROCS motorsports. The sale of this car will include 1 key and the current owner’s service records and paperwork. There are no original books or manuals available but they can be easily sourced second-hand. Classically styled, air-cooled Porsches like this are gaining market value everyday, do not miss your opportunity to own this timeless and ready to drive 1969 912.

@thecubester sure. Mechanically the car is in good condition. The car starts up every time and idles around 800rpm. The gears shift smoothly and the engine pulls very nicely. I easily cruise in the car at 75-80mph and it feels nice and tight. There isn’t any rust on the car that I am aware of.
Since there’s no driving / cold start video provided, can you share some comments on how it actually runs?
Any sense for the car’s rust repair history or if it’s in need of any presently?
Thanks!
@DaBigKahuna1969 hey there. That’s correct, no A/C in the car.
