Available for auction is a collection of 6 rare Minerva stopwatches and 3 makes including Hanhart and Marcel et Cie circa 1960-1970. The collection is composed of the following stopwatches:
2 Minerva - A pair of 2 Button 1/5 split-second timers with a black outer dial and a red inner dial. Measuring a very large 57 mm, they are mounted on a polished dash plate with the legend ‘Milla Miglia’ and placed on a walnut display plaque.
1 Minerva - 100-second timer with the face registering 100 seconds not 60 seconds. To the seller's knowledge, this is the only stopwatch ever produce with that feature. It is mounted on a polished dash plate with the legend ‘Watkins Glen’ and placed on a walnut display plaque.
1 Minerva - 2 Button 1/5 second timer. It is the only Minerva that was produced with a two-tone, light blue and white, face. It measures 51.5mm. It is mounted on a polished dash plate with the legend ‘Silverstone’ and placed on a walnut display plaque.
1 Minerva - 2 Button model 1/5 second timer with a red outer dial and black inner. Measuring 49.9 mm. It is mounted on a polished dash plate with the legend ’24 Heures Du Le Mans’ and placed on a walnut display plaque.
1 Minerva - 10-second timer that measures 57.3mm. It is the largest model that Minerva made. It is mounted on a metal dash plate with the legend ‘Spa Francochamps‘ below on a walnut display plaque.
2 Marcel Et Cie - The first is 2 buttons 1/10 split-second timer with alternating red and black numbers on the dial. The second is also 2 button 1/5 second split timer with black numbers on the dial. This piece has an auxiliary rubber case that holds the watch so that it can be worn around the neck. They are mounted on a metal dash plate and then on a walnut display plaque with the legend ‘Monza’.
1 HANHART - 3-button 1/10 split-second timer. Mounted on a walnut plaque with the legend ‘Liege Rome Liege’.
