Pairing a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine, this 2007 Porsche 987 Cayman S is finished in Atlas Grey Metallic over black upholstery. Upon the seller’s acquisition in December 2013 at nearly 22k miles, the car was prepared for track use by Innovative Autosports and has undergone various additional race-focused modifications since. The build incorporates COBB Tuning engine software, enhanced cooling systems, an OS Giken limited-slip differential, a lightweight flywheel, GT3 suspension components, Bilstein PSS9 coilovers, an OMP Racing seat, a fire suppression system, a bolt-in half cage, 18” OZ Racing Alleggerita wheels, and much more. Showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer, this track-ready Cayman S is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 38k miles showing on the odometer.
Specified in Atlas Grey Metallic, this 987 has been adorned with front-end paint protection film, removable racing numbers, and an Innovative Autosports-branded windshield tint strip. The side windows have been removed, and front & rear tow hooks have been fitted. It rides on 18” OZ Racing Alleggerita wheels with 89mm bullet nose wheel studs and Hankook Ventus tires 2022. A spare set of matching wheels with Pirelli rain tires will accompany the sale. In 2016, the vehicle contacted a tire wall at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, resulting in major damage, including air bag deployment, as shown on the CARFAX report. Repairs have been made, and the seller notes paint imperfections on the driver’s side ahead of the rear wheel. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior has been stripped for weight savings and modified with an OMP Racing HTE driver’s seat with a Schroth Racing harness, an OMP Racing quick-release three-spoke steering wheel, a GMC bolt-in half roll cage, and a Stroud Safety fire suppression system. While the gauges are confirmed to be working properly, the seller states the electronics have been removed, causing engine warning lights and error messages to illuminate. Additionally, the air conditioning compressor has been removed.
Power is derived from a 3.4-liter flat-six engine driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Active Brake Differential (ABD) come standard. The seller highlights the following modifications:

It could be easily converted to a race car with the addition of a full cage. The car has been prepared and maintained since 2014 by a reputable race shop for both safety and performance. It is stored under cover in a climate-controlled garage. I stopped driving on the track several years ago, so it is time to sell. I hope the next owner enjoys the car as much as I have.

@LesC ok.. so you never did a bore scope to check for bore scoring... as you know this is one of the main issues with these engines.

@jbelcredi Sorry, I do not have any of those currently. The last DME showed some low level over revs, nothing major. That was a few years ago.

@43SqnJock I have a harness (non-Hans) with attachments in the car, but no seat. I would borrow a seat when I needed for ride-alongs or instructing.
Love the phrase "contacted a tire wall at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit". I had a similar phrase for when I made contact with the wall at Road Atlanta in a race car.....
