Produced exclusively for the Japanese market between 1996 and 1998 with 136 examples in total, the Alpina B6 2.8 Touring is based on the BMW E36 with a modified 2.8-liter inline-six engine. This 1997 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black interior with patterned blue cloth inserts. It features a 5-speed automatic transmission, an Alpina-specific aerodynamic kit, Alpina-tuned suspension, Alpina instrument dials, Alpina floor mats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, an electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 17” Alpina turbine-style wheels. Imported from Japan and stored in a warehouse for the past 2 years, this rare Alpina B6 2.8 Touring is now being offered for auction out of Virginia with approximately 109k kilometers (67k miles) showing on the odometer.
The Alpina B8 can be distinguished from a standard BMW E36 by its unique front spoiler, side skirts, rear valence, and tailgate badging. This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with contrasting gold Alpina stripe decals. Equipment includes integrated fog lights, power mirrors, roof rails, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, dual exhaust tips, and 17” Alpina turbine-style wheels. The seller notes the car’s exterior remains in very good overall condition, although there is a paint touch-up on the sunroof panel, and the tires are older and may need to be replaced. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is appointed with black leather upholstery accented by patterned blue cloth inserts on the seats and door panels. Accessories include a three-spoke Alpina-badged leather steering wheel, manually-adjustable front seats, a leather gear selector with two-tone stitching, Alpina floor mats, Alpina-branded door sills, power windows and door locks, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, Alpina-specific instrumentation, and an aftermarket Alpina head unit. An Alpina production plaque above the glovebox identifies the car’s serial number.
Rated at 225 HP and 296 lb-ft of torque, the 2.8-liter inline-six DOHC engine is modified by Alpina with a revised cylinder head, camshafts, forged pistons, headers, and tuning software. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted steering, and an Alpina-tuned suspension. The seller indicates that an oil change and battery replacement were recently completed.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Rare BMW touring wagon with the Alpina performance and handling. Very limited production and very collectable.”

The Alpina suspension is lower stance. DVD is part of the Japanese imported stereo system.
The handling is greatly enhanced by the Alpine set-up as well as added performance from the engine upgrades.
No service records oil change and inspection done in our shop. The condition shows the care taken by the previous owner. Really clean..
Interesting car. Is this the stock ride height from Alpina or is this on a lowering kit of some variety? Cruise control? What’s the DVD for? Any service records? Any accident history? Thank You
