This 1993 Audi S4 was modified as a land speed record vehicle by Jeff Gerner and earned the title of the world’s fastest sedan at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2012, reaching an exit speed of 261 MPH. Featuring a custom aerodynamic kit, underbody paneling, composite windows, and a full roll cage, the car is powered by a custom dry-sump 2.4-liter inline 5-cylinder turbocharged engine rated at 1,155 HP. The car is equipped with a Drivesport 6-speed manual gearbox, a Quattro all-wheel-drive system, a Tilton Engineering clutch kit, a custom limited-slip differential, an air-to-ice intercooler, aftermarket coilovers, a rear-mounted parachute, a fire suppression system, and much more. This record-breaking Audi S4 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Missouri.
The exterior was professionally refinished in white in 2012 and has been modified with a custom aerodynamic body kit. The side mirrors have been removed, and lightweight composite windows have been installed along with a sunroof block-off plate, custom underbody panels, hood pins, a rear-mounted drag parachute, and 17” Kosei Racing wheels. An additional set of Bonneville wheels and tires is included in the sale. Some cosmetic imperfections are noted around the exterior, including cracks in the turn signal lenses. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin has been stripped and fitted with a 6-point roll cage, a Cobra racing seat, an RCI racing harness, a MOMO Race steering wheel, and an onboard fire suppression system. Other accessories include a custom center console switch panel, a dashboard-mounted boost gauge, auxiliary oil pressure and water temperature gauges, an Emtron digital dash display, and a dashboard-mounted tachometer with a shift light.
Dyno-tested with an output of 1,155 HP, the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine is based on an Audi 5-cylinder AAN block that was converted to dry sump lubrication and fitted with the following components:
The Quattro all-wheel-drive system is paired with a 6-speed Drivesport manual gearbox, a 60-2 billet flywheel, a Tilton Engineering clutch kit, and a custom limited-slip rear differential. The suspension has also been modified with aftermarket coilovers.
This sale will include an additional set of wheels and tires, a spare Borg Warner S400SX turbocharger, a new 16V AGM battery, a battery charger, and a clean title. The seller adds that the builder, Jeff Gerner, will personally coach the next owner in the operation and maintenance of this highly unique automobile.

Its currently setup to run standing mile road races where it recently set a record of 228mph in the mile. It comes fully kitted out with two brand new turbos and two sets of wheels and tires... one each for the mile (acceleration setup) and one each for Bonneville (top end). Some tuning and tweaking is required to bounce between them, but nothing crazy. There is also a larger 35gal ice tank included for Bonneville runs to make the air-to-water intercooler run more efficiently. This car is a legend in the Audi and racing world. Absolute legend in Audi history here. Jeff is definitely the Audi 5 cylinder whisperer when it comes to extracting some insane performance out of the C4 S4/S6 engine. Sad to see him putting it up for sale but I hope it finds a new appreciative home.

This car is making over 1,200 crank HP on race gas.. if you wanted to you could make 30%+ more on e85 and its setup for it, just add larger injectors and tune it.
It redlines at 10,000 RPM
The recent engine rebuild included a polished billet crank shaft, billet main caps, custom billet cam shafts, Auto Verdi connecting rods, and Wiseco billet pistons. Its broken in, but essentially brand new.

The owner is just getting to a point in his life where he feels he can no longer pilot the car safely at speeds of over 200 mph.. so its time to find it a new home. Its worth noting the car is making almost double the power that it did when it set the record at Bonneville in 2012 for worlds fastest sedan.. somebody needs to get it back out and see what it will do. The car is currently configured for standing mile runs. Note in the photos that we put both sets of wheels and tires on.. It comes with everything you need to run it as is in standing mile runs (or roll racing), and everything you need to run it at Bonneville including a dedicated turbo setup, and a larger 35gal ice tank to keep the intercooler running efficiently on the longer runs. And yes.. for the curious.. you could still throw a plate on this, throw the side-view mirrors back on, and run this on the street. Just add an electric cooling fan to the radiator. ;)If this sells, a UTX24 enclosed trailer that is setup to haul and support this car will be auctioned as well.
