This 1986 Land Rover 90 was customized by Independent MotorCar of Smithtown, New York, and is powered by a rebuilt 4.0-liter Chevrolet V8 with a Holley carburetor paired with a Land Rover 4-speed automatic transmission. Reportedly cared for by a single owner in southern Italy before being imported to the United States in 2016, it was acquired by the seller from Manhattan Motorcars in 2018. Finished in white with a black soft top over black upholstery, this Defender has been outfitted with off-road enhancements, including diamond plate aluminum panels, an air intake snorkel, a front brush guard, LED lighting, a custom rear bumper, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.

Exterior details include custom diamond plate aluminum panels, black-painted wheel arch extensions, a front brush guard with headlight cages, LED headlights, side steps, a custom rear bumper, and rear mud flaps. Additional equipment consists of black-painted side mirrors, a fold-down windshield, and 16” wheels with a matching rear-mounted spare. The minimalistic cabin presents black upholstery and has been fitted with new floorboards. Features include a four-spoke steering wheel, a custom center console, manual roll-up windows, and a converted speedometer from kilometers to miles. The original manual shifter remains in place but is no longer functional. The seller notes that the window cranks and door handles occasionally stick and should be replaced, and some warning lights are currently illuminated.
Power comes from a rebuilt 4.0-liter Chevrolet V8 engine featuring a Holley carburetor. All four wheels are driven through a Land Rover 4-speed automatic transmission in place of the original 5-speed manual. A dual-range transfer case is equipped.
