This 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe is the subject of a custom restoration inspired by 911 RSR IROC race cars of the era. Beginning in 2021, the vehicle was modified with steel fender flares and refinished in Gulf Blue, featuring custom orange side stripes, while the cabin was professionally reupholstered in black leather. Power comes from a fully rebuilt 2.7-liter mechanical fuel-injected (MFI) engine with upgraded RS cams and an electronic distributor. The car also features a refurbished 5-speed 915 manual transaxle, a custom hood-mounted fuel tank filler, an Elephant Racing oil cooler kit, PMB restored brake calipers, Koni red dampers, period-correct sport seats, silver knit carpeting, a MOMO Mod steering wheel, RS-style door cards, JBL speakers, a Bluetooth stereo, and 15” Fuchs RSR-style wheels. Showcasing painstaking attention to detail and craftsmanship, this restored 911 RSR/IROC tribute is now being offered for auction out of Alabama.
The exterior has been modified with steel fender flares, fiberglass IROC-style bumpers, and a fiberglass Carrera RS-style ducktail spoiler. It was finished in correct single-stage Gulf Blue (328) Glasurit paint, accented by orange Porsche script side stripes. All insulation, seals, and rubber trim were replaced, and the mirrors, window surrounds, and headlight trim rings were powder-coated in satin black. Equipment includes European-spec headlights, dual mirrors, pop-out rear quarter windows, a custom hood-mounted fuel filler, a PORSCHE-logo taillight reflector, a custom decklid prop strut, and dual 935-style center-mounted exhaust pipes. The 15” Fuchs RSR-style wheels are paired with extended wheel studs and period-style Michelin TB tires. The seller adds that the body and frame are straight and rust-free, and the undercarriage has been refinished with period-spec coating. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior has been redone by a master craftsman with new black leather upholstery, a perforated black leather headliner, and Slate silver knit carpeting. Accessories include period-correct sport seats, a MOMO Mod 7 steering wheel, RS-style door panels with yellow pull straps, perforated aluminum pedals, JBL speakers, a Bluetooth Continental stereo, a heater, and a fire extinguisher. The cabin is lined with Lizard Skin insulation and sound-deadening material for driver comfort.
The air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine has been completely rebuilt with new internals, upgraded RS cams, an electronic distributor, a rebuilt MFI pump by renowned Gus Pfister at Pacific Fuel Injection, and an Elephant Racing oil cooler kit. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a refurbished 5-speed manual transaxle. Stopping is handled by PMB restored M-type front and S-type rear brake calipers. The correct torsion bar suspension has been refreshed with new Koni red dampers and a modern front strut tower brace.
This sale will include a clean title.

May sound redundant but I think the hood/bumper issue did not help the deserved
bidding…….thus should be first corrected and reposted with documentation of issue for a proper offer. Perhaps some may not care

@Byrneout Yes; it was a "cold start" diving video -- would take a good while longer to get up to temp, thus I did not rev-it-out more (in addition to traffic and the fuel being on reserve).

Bid in the amount of $52,000
Thank You!
@jlsiegel All glass is original (Sekurit-F) except the windshield, which is new ("PPG SunShade Solex Duplate Laminated Safty Float") -- no chips, no pits, etc., new.
@Riptide As mentioned earlier in the discussion, I'll be back in town this afternoon/evening; will acquire and post-up the requested driving video (daylight & weather permitting), otherwise it will be tomorrow, before the end of the auction. Agree on the hood/bumper issue that has been discussed; yet it will be addressed by our Porsche Specialist Shop prior to delivery to the RSR's new owner.
Driving video coming? Interested but something is odd about it. That hood alignment is so “in your face” that it should have been addressed at build? Thanks
Thx much
Please comment on the windshield… new or original?
Glass pits or chips?
@jlsiegel Yes; it's located at our facility in Florence AL. The referenced Porsche Specialist Shop is located in Huntsville AL; 2-hour trailering (each way).
For clarity
Where is car located? tissl?
And where is Porsche specialty shop you have to ship to?
Bid in the amount of $50,500
@Munich911 As mentioned earlier in the discussion, the bumper or hood or the rubber seal in the cited area is slightly out of alignment, yet our aircooled specialist shop believes this can be correctly adjusted. We will ship the RSR to our Porsche specialist shop to address such on sale prior to shipping to it's new owner.
@jlsiegel It's held in a Montana LLC; no issues transferring title to the new owner. I'll be back in town this afternoon/evening; will acquire and post-up the requested driving video (daylight & weather permitting), otherwise it will be tomorrow, before the end of the auction.
In pic 36 the side edge of the front hood looks like it’s bowed out? It does not seem like it’s even. Is this the case? If so, can it be adjusted for a more seamless fit?
Bid in the amount of $47,825
Is owner a resident of Montana or is title held thru a Montana LLC???
Easily transferred?
Short driving video available??

It appears perhaps bumper is cause as the hood edge itself looks straight
Assuming this would be corrected prior to shipping….???
