Featuring a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine derived from the high-performance 718 Spyder and GT4, the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is a premium driver-focused model equipped as standard with a SportDesign front fascia, the Sport Chrono Package, Sport Exhaust System, and a Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) limited-slip differential. This 2023 example is finished in Shark Blue over an Agate Grey leather interior and configured with a 6-speed manual transmission, the optional Premium Package, 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, painted roll bars, and LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). Driven approximately 2k miles since it was purchased new by the seller, this Boxster GTS 4.0 is now being offered for auction out of Illinois.

The GTS differs from a standard 718 Boxster with a SportDesign front fascia, black exterior trim elements, tinted taillights, and a redesigned lower rear valence with black twin tailpipes. This example is finished in Shark Blue with a black convertible top and optional painted roll bars. Other equipment includes optional LED with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), power-folding side mirrors, black side air intakes, a removable cabin wind deflector, a speed-activated rear spoiler, red Porsche-branded brake calipers, and Satin Black 20” light alloy wheels. The seller indicates the car has been garage-kept, clear paint protection film is applied over the front end, and it was never subjected to motorsports or winter driving. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with optional Agate Grey full leather upholstery in favor of the standard GTS Race-Tex interior package. Accessories include aluminum trim pieces, optional heated 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, a heated multifunction leather steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, the Light Design Package, Porsche Entry & Drive, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM).

Producing up to 395 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six is mated to a 6-speed manual transaxle and a mechanical limited-slip differential. This GTS is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), the Sport Chrono Package, and Sport Exhaust System. Routine maintenance has been carried out at Porsche Lincolnwood, including an oil service and brake fluid flush in September 2025. The factory warranty remains in effect until April 2027 or 50k miles.

This sale will include an owner’s manual, a tire fill kit, a windscreen, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "This is a gently, and frequently-driven Porsche that has been properly cared for during its original owner tenure.  It has a great engine and transmission, and handles as well as (often better than) any Porsche of similar weight/HP ratio.  The car is totally stock, except for protective film added, and its sticker cost would be nearly $120k if ordered through Porsche today (with a long wait for delivery).  It still holds nearly 1-1/2 years of warranty by Porsche."

@SSTwin & @ 550Spyderman - Gentlemen, gentlemen. Ease back to idle. You both have valid points. FL roads are indeed flat, straight, crowded and patrolled. If Ferdinand had been born down here he would not have invented his marvelous machine. Rather, probably a pickup, jacked up and bearing oversized flags. And while I agree with you, 550Spyderman, that a radio (or whatever fancy nomemclature you want to call the "sound system" is not why a Porsche is desireable (if Porsche allowed for a delete when ordering I'd tick that box), SSTwin is allowed his preferences. And of course Porsche is enabling him to fulfill his wish for audiophile sound for a (hefty) price. Perhaps if you two should meet up at a Porsche event you might enjoy each other's company. Online, howeveer, it's too easy to take offense and give it.
Also, @ eagle32 - you have a important point. There is less room in the cockpit because the extra two cylinders take up some of the four cylinders' room. For interested bidders, you should take that into account if you haven't already sat in a 4.0.
But back to the car. It should do well here. GLWA.

@Spyderman550 It's great to be you, I'm sure. All the best....

@SSTwin You’re absolutely correct I did not enjoy Florida roads ,summer or winter, for 20 years. Flat as a table, straight as an arrow, clogged with traffic and boring as hell. Enough to drive a true enthusiast crazy. Might as well drive a Subaru and save the extra cash for a therapist. Sold my business 25 years ago and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hundreds of miles of great twisty undulating lightly trafficked roads in every direction right out the end of my driveway. Absolute bliss!

I have almost the same car - 2022 GTS 4.0 in shark blue with chalk interior. The base porsche stereo is truly crap- I ordered a new Panamera with the Bose but it came in with the base stereo be us of Covid supply issues- really annoying. I ended up selling that car. Almost impossible to upgrade these integrated porsche stereos aftermarket.

Also - the porsche navigation system was a $3500 option /not really needed as the car does have wireless CarPlay or android auto- but odd that nav is standard on almost all porsche vehicles except the 718’s.

By the way- a lovely car to drive. On auto the car is docile and street friendly a behaves but on paddles and up over 5,000 rpm the engine screams and comes to life. This engine doesn’t not make the pops, crackles and such on downshifts that the base 911 992 engine makes - with 400 hp as well. This was disappointing. I like those sounds. I believe a new exhaust can add back some of these fun sounds but I have not tried to install such an exhaust.
If your over 6’ like I am - in the driver’s seat I fit okay- not as easy as a 911 but the pedals are far enough back that with the seats against the rear trunk wall I fit. But in the passenger seat the floor is moved up further toward the passenger and my feet end up crunched up with my knees up in the cabin — I won’t ride in the car unless I am driving. Two trunks is really great as well.
The stereo is no big deal if your not a music guy- but if you are - this base stereo might not meet your stsndard. Even the Bose stereo is not all that good either - but passable.

@550Spyderman, thanks for your "informative" reply. It really helps me out in my decision-making regarding which Porsche to buy, and how to truly appreciate it. This would be my 29th Porsche in over 55 years of Porsche ownership, including SCCA and PCA Club Racing, HPDE Red Group and Instructor status, PCA parade Competition with a 2nd Place overall at a previous Parade. Perhaps you haven't enjoyed summers in straight, flat Florida on I-95 and I-4. I have and I'll continue to enjoy my Climate Control and Audio on my street Porsches. Again, many thanks for your "guidance".

To begin with there’s nothing wrong with the base audio system, particularly in a Boxster, which should be driven with the top down, radio off, exhaust open, enjoying the symphony of the natural aspirated flat six. Perhaps anyone disappointed by the lack of a so called “premium” sound system in a Boxster should be looking for a Taycan, or wait for the EV Cayman where silence will allow you to notice the difference.

  • rhtb52 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@550Spyderman The Boxster has a base audio system.

  • SSTwin (registered bidder) 1 day, 17 hoursago

@550Spyderman thanks for the reply. Seemed unusual that a "full lux" build would leave that out.

  • 550Spyderman 1 day, 20 hoursago

@SSTwin If there was an upgrade from the base audio it would be shown in the option section of the window sticker.

OOOPS, looked at the listing too quickly. I see the Window Sticker, thanks. Also it seems that the base audio is what this has. No Bose, no Burmester? Is that so?

  • SSTwin (registered bidder) 2 days, 2 hoursago

Nice GTS. Which audio system does this have? Can you share the build sheet/ window sticker? Thanks.
