At the end of the first-generation Audi C5 RS6 production run in 2004, a limited-edition RS6 Plus model was created, featuring a special Cosworth-developed 4.2-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine paired with a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system. It came exclusively in the 5-door Avant body style with sport-tuned Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) suspension, a quick-ratio steering rack, Anthracite-painted 19” wheels, Recaro sport seats, and carbon fiber interior trim. Of the 999 limited-edition cars produced, which were never sold in the U.S., this example is designated as #9 of only 20 delivered new to Japan (JDM). Imported to Canada by the current owner in 2021 and treated to a major service with a new water pump and timing belts, this incredibly rare Audi RS6 Plus is now being offered for auction with approximately 190k kilometers or 118k miles showing on the odometer.

This RS6 Plus is finished in Ebony Black Pearl (LZ9W) and features unique aluminum exterior trim, unlike European-market examples, which came with the Black-Optic Package. Details include an RS6-specific fascia, flared fenders, side skirts, aluminum mirror caps, roof rails, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, parking sensors, polished dual exhaust tips, and RS-branded brake calipers. The car rides on 19” TSW wheels dressed with 2022 Firehawk Indy tires, and the original Anthracite-painted 19” 5-arm alloy wheels have been refinished and are included in the sale. The seller describes the car as being in excellent condition for its age and mileage, noting small, touched-up stone chips on the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black interior features saddle brown leather Recaro sport seats and door panel inserts, carbon fiber trim pieces, and a black Alcantara headliner. Other accessories include RS6-embossed seatbacks, RS6 door sill logos, RS-branded floor mats, a three-spoke RS sport steering wheel, paddle shifters, aluminum pedal covers, automatic climate control, a digital trip computer, and an aftermarket Kenwood multimedia head unit. The leather is said to be in good condition with gentle patina.

Built by then-Audi-owned Cosworth Technology, the 4.2-liter V8 engine is based on that of the standard RS6, but with bespoke BorgWarner K04 twin turbochargers, side-mounted intercoolers, auxiliary radiators, optimized combustion chambers, ported heads, and a refined piston crown design. Producing up to 473 HP and 428 lb-ft of torque, the engine is paired with a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and a Quattro all-wheel drive system with a torque-sensing center differential. The RS6 Plus comes with a quicker steering ratio than a standard RS6 and features sport-tuned Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) suspension. Stopping is handled by massive 8-piston Brembo brakes with cross-drilled floating discs in front and single-piston calipers with cross-drilled discs at the rear. Service completed in 2021 at 177k kilometers included a new water pump, timing belts, cam tensioner seals, intake manifold gaskets, a left-front CV joint, transmission service, a rebuilt transmission cooler, a power steering and brake fluid flush, new rear differential fluid, and an oil change.

This sale will include the original wheels and a Canadian registration.

The seller would like you to know: “Rare one of 20 JDM Audi RS6+, differs from the European version with aluminum color roof rails and window trim. The Euro version had blacked-out trim.”

@carguy74. Not easily, at least until it is 25 years old. A registered Importer can give a more thorough answer than I can, but it is not a straightforward process with any car that was not imported into the US. It would need to be ‘federalized’ like the grey market cars from the 80’s. Not sure what exactly this entails with this car and prospective buyers should get an informed opinion before bidding.

Worst case you can use it as an Alberta ski car for a while, a use that it would be admirably suited for!

First question everyone south of the 49th Parallel will ask "can it be exported to the United States?"
