A high-performance open-top sports car for the driving purist, the Porsche 718 Spyder shares its chassis and naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with the Cayman GT4 and features a lightweight convertible top with a unique double streamliner decklid. This Canadian-market 2022 example is finished in the rare Paint to Sample color of Meissen Blue over a Black leather and Race-Tex interior. It was specified for European Delivery at the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen and configured with a 6-speed manual transmission, optional LED headlights including PDLS+, the BOSE Surround Sound System, Black Brushed Aluminum interior trim, and Satin Platinum-painted wheels. The car has also been fitted with GT4 side intake scoops and yellow instrument dials and door straps. This 718 was purchased by the seller as a certified pre-owned vehicle in September 2023 and is now being offered for auction out of Canada with approximately 12k kilometers or 7,500 miles showing on the odometer.
The 718 Spyder features an aggressive front fascia and rear diffuser from the GT4, a ducktail-style rear spoiler, and a lightweight folding convertible soft top that stows beneath an aluminum rear decklid with distinctive double streamliners. This example is believed to be one of only three 718 Spyders finished in Meissen Blue, a historic Paint to Sample color originally offered on the 1957 Porsche 356. The seller indicates that GT4 side scoops were installed as a custom factory option. Other equipment includes optional LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), clear taillights, dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and 20” GT4 wheels painted in Satin Platinum. The seller states the full front bumper, mirrors, and forward portion of the hood are covered by clear paint protection film and the exterior has been treated with a ceramic coating. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Black leather and Race-Tex upholstery including 2-way manual Sport Seats Plus and a three-spoke GT Sport steering wheel. Yellow instrument dials and door pull straps have been installed and the original black pieces are included in the sale. Accessories include Black Brushed Aluminum trim inlays, air conditioning, cruise control, rear ParkAssist, a rearview camera, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Apple CarPlay, and the BOSE Surround Sound System.
Derived from the GT4, the 718 Spyder features a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine rated at 414 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanically locking differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The Boxster Spyder shares its brakes and chassis setup with the GT4 including a track-tuned version of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The seller notes the car will be sold with a stock exhaust system, although a Soul Race Exhaust can be installed upon the buyer’s request for an additional $2k. Routine annual maintenance has been performed at an authorized Porsche dealer including the most recent service in September 2024. Additionally, this vehicle is said to remain covered by a pre-owned warranty until 3/14/2028.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a battery trickle charger, the original black gauge faces and door straps, and a clean title. The seller states the vehicle is currently leased, and the winning bidder will be responsible for a buyout fee of $899, including Canadian sales tax, although U.S. buyers are exempt from sales tax as long as they can provide a bill of lading.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car since and was always stored in a climate-controlled parking. Never winter driven. All maintenance is up-to-date. Purchased as a CPO unit in Sep 2023 with 3650 miles on the car. Currently has 7690 miles on it. Full CPO Warranty till 3/14/2028. I am the 2nd owner. As per the Porsche center, 1st owner took European delivery and sold it when they shipped it back to Canada. It is a true collector’s car with a special PTS Paint to Sample Meissen Blue, which was originally introduced on the 1957 Porsche 356. Based on some reports this is 1 of 3 Meissen Blue 718 Spyders in the world. 1 in the US, 1 in the UK and this is the only 1 in Canada.”

For buyers in the US, here is a good article i just found that details all documents required for import. It is a relatively easy process and I am here to help and coordinate wherever i can! Plus a broker makes it super easy!

@993David You will NOT be disappointed! 😊
@azhan123 😢
@993David Yes that’s right, a lot of builds weren’t able to be specced with heated seats and steering due to supply chain constraints at the time the car was ordered!
@seller am I reading the build sheet correctly? It does not appear the this does not have heated seats or steering wheel? Being a Canadian car I assumed it would.
@Munich911 Hello, its pic #96. I've also shown the setting in the PCM screen where you can easily switch between MPH and KMPH.
Duty is 2.84%, not sure about broker fees but i've heard it might roughly be around$2500.
Also, what would you estimate the total cost (duty, broker fees, etc) to bring the car to the states? Thank you
Which pic # shows the Speedo in MPH?
Bid in the amount of $88,888
@CLKBS Totally agree with you! Some Spyder sell much higher than others based on the configuration! This one has a PTS Meissen Blue which has a rich history linked to the original introduction on the 1957 Porsche 356 and might have some nostalgic value to some! Looking forward to your bid!
@saswp Not sure that’s correct. Last year when I imported a 992 C4 GTS neither Porsche Canada or US would send a letter. However, my broker was still able to get it cleared in about 20 days without the letter. The only thing I had to change was the parking brake symbol and he had to get a WA title in his brokerage name first before I could register in my state. Many states won’t register a CAN car, because you have to have an actual title, and CAN doesn’t issue titles. .
Bid in the amount of $81,000
Additional dealer markup doesn't necessarily translate into an inflated resale value. However, some P-cars are a different story. Not sure where Spyders fall with retained value after markup. I'll bid accordingly. Thanks for your time!
@CLKBS Unfortunately since I am the 2nd owner I do not have the original sale price. As per the Porsche centre though, there was a mark up since PTS was only available for a few months in the year and not available easily!
@iconrpm @billyshears Unfortunately since I am the 2nd owner I do not have the sticker price. Yes the speedo can be easily changed to mph as shown in one of the pictures in the gallery! For warranty, yes Porsche's website states it applies all across North America!
@azhan123 Surely you know the original msrp?
@saswp Good to know, you guys will have all the support you need from me!
@CLKBS Hello, unfortunately in Canada they don't provide a build sheet with cost breakdown!
We see your build sheet, can you post MSRP window sticker with cost on options? Thanks
@azhan123 Thanks! The LoC can still be gotten from PCNA and save the 20-30 day importer hold.
That said the brokers and certified importers make it simple!
What's the sticker price? Can the speedo be changed easily to mph? Will the CPO warranty carry over to the US?
@iam720 Hello, i have added the requested pictures to the gallery! Please take a look and let me know if it isnt clear! I tried my best to get deep under to get a good picture of the undercarriage!
@HanktheCarGuy This car deserves 365 days of sun!
@AeroSmith It really is! I've got a feeling my next few Porsche's would only be in Meissen Blue haha
@saswp Hello, yes I can coordinate that for you!
did outline the entire process in the comments below on the complete import process. If you go through a broker they literally do everything for you.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@azhan123, will you assist the winning bidder in requesting the LOC from PCNA?
One of the prettiest Spyders I've seen.
Gonna have to sell my 996 GT3 but this is what I have been looking for for a while now - hopefully moving this one from Canada to Texas to warm it up a bit
Bid in the amount of $80,000
@iam720 hello! Welcome to the auction! Sure, I will get them for you first thing tomorrow morning!
apologies for the late request, just coming across this sale. can you add detailed photos of the rear wheels and undercarriage? it would also be helpful to have top-down views under the hood in front and back. thank you
A driving video has been added to the listing page
@surf2day Hello, I have the vehicle ownership, once the car is paid out with PFS the Porsche Center can assist with moving the ownership over to the new owner. Thanks! 😊
Hello again, can you confirm with PFS as to who will be providing the original signed Canadian registration (title) to a potential US buyer? That document will be required to title and register it in any state here in the US. Thank you 🙂
Don't need no stinking factory navigation - we've got "Wayz" on the phone. Besides, getting lost can be fun (unless you're looking for the closest hospital) :-)
Still loving this car.
@surf2day also, the car does not have factory navigation! The install cost after the fact was the same as the cost to add it to the build and I normally spec my cars without navigation for that reason, since I personally have always used CarPlay.
As mentioned in the ad, the CarPlay function was factory and only requires a cable to be connected to the USB port in the centre armrest and it starts right up!
@surf2day Hello! Firstly, greatly thankful for the clarification on the import process! Hope this gives some confidence to other US buyers!
Yes I noticed the BRAKE symbol comes up as opposed to the (!) symbol! That’s how the car came though.
I had mentioned tire readings to the PCAR team but it got missed out in the final write up I guess. All tires were in the range of 5-6 mm.
I’m also getting a PPI done tomorrow at my Porsche centre and will post a copy of the report as soon as I have it! Other than that, this car is literally showroom condition!
@azhan123 very nice PTS Spyder. I may have, but are the tires original and if so would it be possible go get tread depth measurements all around. Also assuming from the build sheet that it has no factory navigation correct? Have you used tethered CarPlay or other without any display issues?
Also, for the bidders querying you on the cross-border aspect - yes the 2.84% duty/merchandise processing fee would apply. US buyers will need to have the car transported to a Registered Importer (list available on the NHTSA website) to process the forms and certify that the car complies with EPA and DOT requirements. Forms are an HS-7 and 7501.
Interesting that your tach faceplate telltales seems to be already compliant in that the word “BRAKE” is present vs. the ISO ((!)) telltale.
I’ve imported 3 Porsches in the past year from Canada and the process (if done correctly) is ultra simple. Will be keenly following this one with high interest. GLWS.
@gbirge I’m pretty sure a broker can arrange something with regards to across the border delivery and with a bill of lading. I can try to ask around and post here if I have a response before the auction ends, but I have seen a few people dealing with brokers, breeze through the process!
Important duty of 2.85% would apply yes! Again the 3rd party buyout would show a much less value than the actual sale price if the car so I’m not sure if it would mean 2.85% of the buyout value or sale value? But I can look into this as well!
The cold start video is of the car with the Soul Race Exhaust, I also have a couple driving videos that I will be uploading soon! Price is $2k USD! Price including shipping was roughly about $3800 USD new including shipping etc.
@azhan123 - so presumably the bill of lading would be the shipping document to have the car shipped down to the states to avoid the sales tax, rather than taking delivery at the border, correct? And the import duty of 2.85% would apply either way, correct?
Also, is the cold start video with the stock exhaust or the soul race performance exhaust that you mentioned could be added for additional $2k (US or CAD?)
@993David Hello! The picture i had added shows mph for speed, odometer and tire measurement reading! Let me know if it is not clear and i can add another one!
@azhan123 the picture on the pcm screen shows the setting but the actual picture of the speedometer is still in kph. Could you also add a picture with it toggled to mph?
Thanks!
@Dozer Hello, i have just received confirmation that as a US buyer, you will be exempt from Canadian sales tax as long as you provide a bill of lading to PFS!
FYI for US buyers, you will be exempt from Canadian sales tax as long as you provide a bill of lading! Porsche Financial Service permit a third-party buyout and will not charge taxes as long as a bill of lading is provided!
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@HanktheCarGuy I have just added 2 pictures showing a ‘mph’ reading and also the settings on the PCM screen!
can you post a picture of the tach and speedometer with the digital readout in MPH instead of KPH this would verify that the speedo does not need to be replaced in the US provided it can actually show it in MPH digitally
@Glickster It is really a special car! Yellow dials and door straps were installed by me. Originals were black. The yellow goes really well in contrast! I have the original set of blacks though and I don't mind reinstalling them for the buyer, they are included in the sale.
Special vehicle. Beautiful color. Black interior works well with blue. (I don't get the yellow dials & door pulls though.) Dials can be switched out - I wouldn't mess with the door pulls.
GLWA!
@Dozer We can work it out both ways. All i am saying is, since the payoff is much lower, sales tax would be a much lower amount to the buyer if they payoff the car directly. In other words, Porsche allows a third-party payoff, which is seen as a benefit to some!
Are you suggesting the buyer makes the payoff to PFS?
Interesting build: PTS Meissen Blue (which is fantastic--I owned a 997 TT in the color, which was stunning) and not full leather. Very odd.
@993David Thank you! 😊 I did hear it’s a pretty straightforward process! Thank you for the clarification!
@azhan123 duty is 2.85%. I imported a gated Gallardo from Canada in 2023. The process is not difficult other than Porsche will no longer give you the emissions letter so you have to go through a broker.
@993David Hello! Thank you for your bid! As mentioned in the description, I got the dials custom made to factory spec and still have the black original ones. I also have the clock face in yellow but I never got around to installing it, since I feel the yellow gauges with a black clock face are a better looking combination! The door straps were also originally black and I changed them to yellow.
The car has wireless Bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay through a wired connection!
To be honest, all my buddies in my local Porsche club with 18-ways say they hardly ever use the full functionality, and nothing more than 2-ways are really required! I’ve personally never changed my driving position and never felt the need to either!
@Dozer Payoff is to Porsche Financial Services. As per the law, any sale needs to have HST charged, however, this amount can be claimed back by the buyer since the car is never going to be registered in Canada. I am trying to get in touch with the relevant tax departments to see if there is a way the purchase can be made without paying any taxes if there is proof that the car will be shipped straight to the US. As far as I know there is a 2.5% duty on import (would need to confirm). I am really close to the border alongside Niagara Falls and can coordinate a drop at the border. There are also brokers that do the entire door to door delivery process for a minimal amount. I have a friend who knows a few brokers so we can work something out.
Bid in the amount of $75,000
Thanks. Were the yellow dials added later, the options show black. Do you have hands free phone? It has CarPlay but on the next page it says w/o connectivity. How are the manual seats? I’m used to seeing 18 ways in spyders.
So is there a payoff to a bank or PFS for the lease? Why would the new buyer be responsible for your tax?
How far are you from a US border? What would the imports taxes be? Would you offer any assistance in getting it into the US?
@993David Yes, i have added the build sheet in the photo gallery!
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Bid in the amount of $20,222
Do you have the sticker or build sheet?
@mfstevenson7104 oh yes it is, even more in person! The $899 lease buyout fee is in CAD and excluding taxes. So it would be roughly $660 USD
Meissen is such a beautiful color - especially on a Spyder!
Sorry for the dumb question, but for non-Canadian buyers, does the $899 lease buy out fee include Canadian taxes or are those additional?
