The pinnacle of the 6th generation Ford Mustang model line, the Shelby GT500 features a supercharged "Predator" V8 engine rated at 760 HP. This 2022 Heritage Edition example is finished in Brittany Blue Metallic over an Ebony leather and suede interior with Dove accents and features the optional Carbon Fiber Track Pack, the Technology Package, 20” carbon fiber wheels, Recaro bucket seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a Torsen limited-slip differential, an active dual exhaust system, MagneRide suspension, and an upgraded JLT air intake system. Showing under 300 miles on the odometer, this ultra-high-performance Mustang is now being offered for auction out of California.
Adding over $12k to the car’s original sticker price, the Heritage Edition option features the historic Ford color of Brittany Blue Metallic (EB) with painted over-the-top racing stripes in Wimbledon White. The car also features the optional Carbon Fiber Track Pack, selected at a cost of $18,500, adding an exposed carbon fiber GT4 rear spoiler, carbon fiber side sills, and 20” exposed carbon fiber wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 performance tires. Other equipment includes a vented bonnet with hood pins, automatic HID projector headlamps, sequential LED taillights, manually folding power-adjustable mirrors, red brake calipers with white Brembo logos, and a polished quad-tipped dual exhaust.
Inside, Recaro sport seats are trimmed in Ebony leather and suede with contrasting Dove accents. The GT500 comes without rear seats and features a carbon fiber instrument panel as part of the optional Carbon Fiber Track Pack. Other accessories include an Alcantara-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 12” digital instrument cluster, push-button ignition, remote keyless entry, an 8” touchscreen infotainment system with Ford SYNC 3, and a rearview camera. The optional Technology Package provides a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, voice-activated navigation, and the Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert.
Rated at 760 HP and 625 lb.-ft of torque, the supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 engine was touted as the most powerful engine ever fitted in a production Mustang. Paired with a Tremec 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a Torsen 3.73:1 limited-slip differential, it propels the GT500 from 0-60 MPH in approximately 3.4 seconds. The Carbon Fiber Track Pack adds adjustable strut top mounts and standard features include electronic power-assisted steering, an engine oil cooler, an independent rear suspension, launch control/line lock, Ford Track Apps for recording telemetry and performance data, a Magneride adaptive dampening suspension, and Brembo brakes with cross-drilled discs. An upgraded JLT air intake system has been installed as well.
