The sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R231) was produced from 2012 until 2020 and introduced an all-aluminum body and a new folding hardtop panorama roof system. This final-year example is an SL 450 powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine rated at over 360 HP. It comes finished in Designo Diamond White Metallic over a two-tone Porcelain and Black leather interior. Remaining part of the original owner’s collection, this SL 450 is now being offered for auction out of Florida while showing under 11k miles on the odometer.
The R231 SL-Class roadster was designed by Frank Pfisterer and Mark Fetherston featuring new aluminum bodywork laid over an aluminum spaceframe chassis. It includes a folding hardtop system with a panorama glass roof, automatic rollover protection, and a power-operated wind deflector. This 2020 example is finished in Designo White Metallic paint and rides on optional 19” AMG multi-spoke wheels in a Titanium and Himalaya Grey finish. The wheels come dressed in Continental tires from 2021. Other details include a chrome grille, chrome door handle inserts, gloss black window trim, hood and fender vents, a hands-free power trunk lid, automatic LED cornering headlights, LED taillights, mirrors with integrated turn signals, front and rear parking sensors, rearview parking camera, and a gloss black lower rear apron with a body-colored diffuser and integrated tailpipe finishers. The exterior is described to be in excellent overall condition apart from some minor scratches on the front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Porcelain and Black leather upholstery complemented by black ash wood veneers and aluminum-look trim. The driver and passenger are situated in heated and ventilated multicontour seats with memory settings and Airscarf ventilated headrests. Other accessories include a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, black carpet floor mats, polished stainless-steel door sills, dual-zone automatic climate control, an engine start/stop button, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, blind spot assist, remote keyless entry, a Harman/Kardon sound system, and a digital infotainment system with navigation.
A 3.0-liter V6 Biturbo engine delivers up to 362 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 9-speed automatic 9G-Tronic Plus transmission and a brake-actuated limited-slip differential. Performance features include electric speed-sensitive power steering, adaptive damping suspension, and perforated disc brakes. The seller states all routine maintenance has been kept up to date as shown on the CARFAX report including a recently completed Mercedes-Benz “B” service.
