This 2018 Aluma 8218 Tilt Trailer is an all-aluminum, tandem-axle hauler designed for low-clearance performance vehicles and motorsport transport. It was purchased new from Big Tex Trailers in Marietta, Georgia, and has been modified with several thoughtful upgrades, including custom-fabricated aluminum ramps for low-profile vehicle loading, a Rhino-coated tire rack and fuel jug holder, and removable fenders for easy vehicle entry and exit. It features a hydraulic tilt deck with locking mechanisms, dual 3,500-lb torsion axles with electric brakes, and an 82" x 219" aluminum bed rated for a 7,000-lb maximum load. Lightly used and always stored at the owner’s residence, this trailer is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
Constructed from extruded aluminum, the trailer measures 82” wide by 219” long. It features a front stationary section and a hydraulically actuated rear tilt deck, along with a custom-fabricated aluminum plate, approximately 3–4” wide and 1/4–3/8” thick, welded across the rear edge to reinforce the loading area and accept the included custom ramps, designed for low-clearance vehicles. Equipment includes removable aluminum teardrop fenders, four corner-mounted D-rings for tie-downs, stake pockets along each side, integrated LED lighting, a Rhino-lined tire and fuel jug rack. A 2” A-frame aluminum tongue with safety chains and a tongue lock is also included. The removable fenders allow for easier access to vehicle doors during loading and unloading. It rides on 14” aluminum wheels mounted with Vanguard Towmax ST205/75R14 trailer tires less than two years old. A side-mounted spare tire with an additional unmounted spare are also included. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The trailer is equipped with dual 3,500-lb rubber torsion axles with easy-lube hubs, along with electric brakes on both axles with a breakaway safety system. The hydraulic tilt mechanism includes a control valve for adjusting the rate of descent and locking points for both the raised and lowered positions. The chassis also incorporates a 44.5” A-frame tongue with a 2” coupler, a front retaining rail, and four recessed stainless-steel tie-down rings rated to 5,000 lbs. A 2,500-lb capacity padded tongue jack completes the mechanical setup. The seller reports that all suspension, braking, and hydraulic systems are in proper working order and that the trailer has been lightly used, with no history of mechanical issues or component failures.
This sale will include a spare tire cover.
The seller would like you to know: “This trailer is in very good condition and I have owned it since new. The only reason I am selling this trailer is because I have moved up to an enclosed trailer and am making room for the new trailer on my property. I have designed and had fabricated two very sturdy custom aluminum ramps that key into the rear plate of the trailer (also fabricated at the same time) to facilitate loading and unloading low ground clearance vehicles like track dedicated cars. The fenders can easily be removed on either side of the trailer so the driver door to the car can be opened for easy entry and exit to the vehicle for loading and unloading. Each axle has electric brakes. I used this trailer about 6 times a year mostly to go to 2 tracks near me within 40 miles. A third track is located about 175 miles away and one time each year I made the foray to either NY or MO for a track event there. There are very low miles of use for the 6 years that the trailer has been owned. I have never had an issue with the trailer either with blowouts or bearings during any of those trips to any track. I am working and have a very busy schedule so I have enlisted a close friend to monitor the auction so that information can be disseminated as soon as possible. At the close of the auction the winning bidder will, of course, be dealing directly with me. Good luck to you all and I thank you for looking at this auction.”

Good luck and congrats Huzat1. With the commission little above what I was willing to go.
@Painlss85 Great news, I am looking forward to Seeing you at the Glen, I go in September as well. I will be dropping off my car before 6pm on Friday May 15th and getting track time on Saturday the 16th and Sunday 17th. II love this track and Mid-Ohio also. f you have been to either of these tracks several times, you will know my 1988 Yellow 325i. It's the only one like it at these events. I stay in the novice group there because I enjoy having someone ride with me. LOl Hope we meet soon.
@HUZAT1 Thank you for your comments and thoughts. I travel up to the Glen pretty much each year and will be going in June with Chin Track Days. hope to see you there.
Painlss85, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This will be a tough week for you. Because I am busy today, I increased my bid this morning to a realistic worth, in case I am away from the computer at the end of the auction. The additional items that you added are very nice and useable. To my surprise I I found that many companies in Georgia are building trailers. I found several trailers like yours on the internet, and they were all located in Georgia. I am presently hauling my 325i race prepared BMW on a steel tilt trailer and I love it. In addition, I am presently looking to find and purchase a tilt aluminum trailer for my 95 BMW M3 so I can take two cars to Watkins Glen and some of the other tracks that I have scheduled for this year's summer's fun. A twelve-hour drive to Georgia is now on my to-do-list to pick up a trailer somewhere. Hopefully it will be yours if I win the Auction. If not, I thankfully have another one spotted. Blessings, thoughts and prayers coming your way for your loss. Thanks for putting this auction on Pcar. I check out the auctions on this site every day. and plan to sell a couple of cars on this site sometime in the upcoming months. Blessings FRED

Thank you for the response. I'm sorry for your loss.
@Leonardway I am afraid that will not be possible as there was a death in the family suddenly last night. I am having to deal with family and funeral arrangement for the next week or so and am unable to get to anything else prior to the end of the auction. If you have any specific questions as to how the tilt feature operates, let me try to explain it for you. There is a hydraulic system that allows the bed to tilt down and back up. The hydraulic cylinder and piston within it operates much like a shock absorber in that it keeps the fluid from suddenly rushing in any direction, thus dampening the movement of the bed. If there is no car on the trailer, you unlock the bed on both sides of the trailer, take out the safety pin, open the hydraulic valve and stand on the rear edge of the trailer. Opening the valve allows the hydraulic fluid to flow when weight is applied to either the rear (if level) or the front (if tilted). Once the bed has tilted back, you place the ramps in the holes in the rear plate which "key"into position and drive your car onto the trailer. As you drive forward the weight transfer forward allows the fluid once again to flow in the opposite direction and the bed then levels. You get out of the car after turning it off, set the parking brake (if there is one?) and close the valve for the hydraulic system. Then put the safety pin back in, and lock both sides of the trailer. To drive off the trailer the process is in the revers of what I have just described. I hope this helps and I apologize for net being able to meet your needs.
@Painlss85, Please post a video of the ramping being lowered and raised. Thanks.
@aSAH sure no problem...I towed a 1999 BMW M3 and then a 2016 Porsche GT4
Hello,
Would you please let me know what type of cars you were pulling. I have a AMG GT and want to see if there would be issues with trailer length.
Thanks in advance!
@oldsouth expand the pictures
@oldsouth I meant to say hitch not bitch. Sorry
@oldsouth this is 1) dependent on the trailer hitch you use and 2) possibly whether or not you have a drop or raised ball position. The bitch I used is a straight hitch with no drop/rise and it did not hit the tailgate when lowered. However, if you expand there’s showing the tongue jack you will find that the forward/aft position of the jack is adjustable so that there should be no issue for your needs
The jack looks really tall. Will the tailgate of the truck hit this in the down position when connected to the truck?

Thanks for the clarification. I did not recognize the ramps in the photo with them in the “stand up” position. Nice trailer and you have added some nice features. Best of luck!
@Spedster89 the ramps have round metal "keys" that fit into the holes in the aluminum plate and the bed of the trailer (look at the picture of the rear of the trailer and the one of the ramp on its side showing a closeup of the front of the ramp turned on its side). As to securing them during transport I was going to make some uprights that would allow the ramps to mount on the side of the trailer (passenger side) but I didn't get that far and decided to go with an enclosed trailer. For now, I just place them in the bed of my truck and remove them when I need to use them.
Could you explain or demonstrate the use of the additional ramps, how they are secured for travel and securement when used for loading, Thanks
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@DriverguyTX it’s already in there. The tire rack is the black frame. Tires fit down between the front and rear cross beams at the top. A metal pole runs through the wheels and chained and locked to screw eyes on the bottom of the frame.
Could you add a photo with the tire rack? Just curious how it mounts and the amount of space it takes.

Interested to know the reserve on this trailer...
Hello - other than our distance from each other, this is what I have been looking for!
However, the listing doesn't say how much it weighs? I am sure it's pretty light, but would love to know (approximately) how much it weighs?
