The top-tier variant of the Tesla Model X, this P100D was purchased new by Shohei Ohtani, a professional Japanese baseball pitcher, designated hitter, and outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was the first car he purchased after obtaining his U.S. driver’s license, drawing attention from Tesla investors including board member Hiro Mizuno, who praised Ohtani’s choice and shared a video of him entering the car on Twitter. Tesla CEO Elon Musk acknowledged the purchase in a Tweet with a heart and Japanese flag emoji, reflecting Tesla’s interest in expanding its presence in Japan’s auto market. It features a satin black vinyl wrap over Solid Black paint and is configured with Enhanced Autopilot, 22" Onyx Black wheels, and a premium two-tone 6-seat interior. This Tesla Model X 100D is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 37k miles on the odometer.
The Solid Black paint is covered by a removable satin black vinyl wrap installed under Ohtani’s ownership. The car features rear double-hinged “falcon-wing” doors, full LED lighting, a deployable rear spoiler, red brake calipers, seven exterior cameras, forward radar, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and power-folding heated side mirrors with memory. It rides on optional 22” Onyx Black wheels with 2022 date-coded tires. The seller notes some minor fading on the hood’s vinyl wrap.
The car features a White and Black Premium Interior with 6 seats. Amenities include heated front and rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, the optional Enhanced Autopilot system, WiFi and mobile network connectivity, a 17” capacitive touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, onboard maps and navigation, FM and internet streaming radio, voice-activated control, a high-defection backup camera, one-touch power windows, a 12-volt power outlet, and five USB ports for media and power.
Equipped with dual three-phase, four-pole AC induction electric motors paired with a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the 100D offers an output of 680 HP to all four wheels. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in 2.9 seconds. The car includes a single-speed direct-dive transmission, dual drive inverters with a regenerative braking system, electronics stability and traction control, and four-wheel antilock disc brakes. The factory's 8-year warranty includes unlimited mileage coverage on the drive unit and battery.

Video seller posted of Ohtani in car has a white interior (same as listed here), so perhaps the ad listed in pics is not the EXACT car, but similar for photo shoot purposes?

According to reports in several Japanese media outlets, Otani (or Ohtani) did not have a driver's license until September 2019, when he commuted in the passenger seat of a Hyundai driven by his interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. He then got his license, bought a Tesla Model X P90D, and started driving himself.

@okukuboy All supporting vehicle documents are present! I’m not sure about the discrepancy you’re mentioning. Shohei Ohtani’s last name is correctly spelled as “Ohtani” everywhere, including on the web, Wikipedia, and all official sources. You can also look and match his signature for verification.

Do you have any proof other than the DMV form that Shohei Ohtani was the owner of the car? I'm a big fan of Shohei's and would like to bid on it if it really was his.
There is something on my mind about the name of the seller. His official name is Shohei Otani, not "Ohtani".
He also spelled "Otani" in the registration of his private company "2WP INC".
@okukuboy My wife and I were looking to get her a Tesla Model X, specifically in the black with white interior, six-passenger configuration, and with lower miles. We came across one at a dealer’s auction and decided to buy it. To our surprise, the car was wrapped in satin black, which was just the icing on the cake!
We’ve had the car for a short time, drove it for less than 200 miles, and absolutely love it. But when we received the title, we discovered that it was previously owned by Shohei Ohtani! Given how special this is, we decided to put the car up for sale, hoping that someone who truly appreciates Ohtani’s legacy will enjoy more than us!
