Built by Vintage Speedsters on a Volkswagen chassis, this Porsche 356 Speedster replica is powered by a 1,915cc flat-four-cylinder engine equipped with dual Weber carburetors paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is finished in grey with a matching gray interior and features a black soft top and boot, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, chrome-finished 15” steel wheels adorned with Porsche-crested hubcaps, an adjustable front axle beam, disc brakes on all four corners, a sidewinder-style exhaust system, and more. This 356 Speedster replica is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.
Mounted upon a 1968 Volkswagen chassis, this example showcases fiberglass bodywork finished in grey, accented by matching bumper guards with front overriders and rub strips. It features a black soft top with a boot cover, side curtains, a single grille decklid, dual side mirrors, teardrop taillights, and gold “Porsche 1600 Super” badging. It rides on chrome-finished 15” steel wheels adorned with Porsche-crested hubcaps and wrapped in Pirelli P4 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is appointed with fixed-back bucket seats with lap belts upholstered in gray leather, which extends to the door cards, dashboard pad, shifter boot, and rear parcel shelf. Charcoal square-weave carpets line the floors, and additional features include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Vintage Speed shifter, a brake handle, a chrome passenger grab handle, and a retro-style radio mounted beneath the dashboard.
Power comes from an air-cooled 1,915cc flat-four-cylinder engine featuring dual Weber carburetors and a full-flow oiling system. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission with a 3.88:1 ring and pinion, while disc brakes facilitate braking power to all four corners. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with an adjustable front axle beam and a sidewinder-style exhaust system.
This sale will include a clean title listing the vehicle as a 1968 Volkswagen.

Come on folks. Let’s get this thing up where it belongs. This looks like a great car with the E brake in the right place! Correct style wheels with 4 way disks great color and a lovely 1.9 liter engine with dual Webers. It don’t get much better than this! I’d be a player myself had I not picked up a Beck Speedster in July. 😎
👍
@badboybuses I have the rear bumper guards which will be included in the sale. Thank you
Beautiful Speedster. But needs rear bumper guards to match has fronts. 🤔

@mbkrider The photos in the listing were taken a few weeks ago. My understanding is that Carfax doesn't generate reports on cars (chassis) this old. The only record of the build sheet that I have is listed in the photos via email from Vintage Speedsters. They don't list the type of disc brakes. The engines are new on their builds, not vintage. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful. Perhaps someone else on the forum may have more knowledge about Vintage Speedsters and the components they use on their builds. Thank you for your interest, it's a beautiful car and a blast to drive.
Hi, do you have any recent pictures?
Also, is there a printed Carfax report?
What kind of disc brakes are installed?
Is the engine from the 1968 bug? Dual port?
Thank you.

@mkvi30 it's a wild boar statue at Soda Springs Winery, which burned down in the Kincade Fire several years ago.
What is the unusual statue in the background?
