Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, the 720S is the second model in McLaren’s Super Series. Succeeding the 650S, it offers a more aggressive design and a redesigned, lighter, and stiffer carbon monocoque inspired by the MonoCage unit from the McLaren P1, along with ProActive Chassis Control II dynamic suspension system, carbon-fiber aerodynamics, carbon-ceramic brakes, and specialized electronic stability control systems. Powered by a 710 HP twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under than 3 seconds. This 2018 model is finished in Saros over a Black, Harissa, and Carmine Red Nappa Leather and Alcantara interior. Optional features also include the Exterior Carbon Fiber Pack 1, Stealth Pack, red brakes, carbon fiber racing seats, MSO extended shift paddles, an MSO Defined carbon fiber steering wheel, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and more. Modified with an Armytrix cat-back exhaust and DME Stage 2 tune, this generously appointed 720S is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 3k miles showing on the odometer.
This example is finished in Saros and features the Exterior Carbon Fiber Pack 1, which includes gloss carbon fiber hood air intakes, rear fender air intakes, and door mirror casings. The Stealth Pack adds black accents to the window surrounds, oil cap cover panel, air brake mechanism, and exhaust tips. Additionally, 19/20" 5-twin-spoke Sport cast alloy wheels are selected with a Stealth finish, complemented by optional red brakes. Other options include glazed-effect upper exterior doors, red-finished brakes, and a vehicle lift system. Built on the carbon-fiber MonoCage II monocoque chassis, shared with the McLaren Senna, Speedtail, and Elva, the 720S also features McLaren ceramic brake calipers, full LED headlamps, and thin LED taillights inspired by the McLaren P1. The seller notes that TeckWrap paint protection film has been applied.
The cabin presents Black Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery adorned with Harissa and Carmine Red accents along with carbon fiber racing seats. The optional Carbon Fiber Primary Interior Components package adds carbon fiber accents to the window switch surrounds, steering wheel clasp, and Active Dynamics Panel surround. Additional optional equipment includes power-adjustable, heated seats with memory functions, a power-adjustable steering column, an MSO Defined carbon fiber steering wheel, MSO extended shift paddles, a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, 360-degree Park Assist, a fire extinguisher, and an interior luggage retention strap. The driver is also provided with an 8-inch portrait screen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a tilting Driver Display panel.
The twin-turbocharged M840T V8 engine generates up to 710 HP and 568 lb.-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an open differential with Brake Steer. The 720S can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in under 3 seconds and is equipped with carbon-ceramic brake rotors, paired with 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. The ProActive Chassis Control II system continuously monitors road conditions, adjusting the suspension settings to optimize ride quality and handling. Modifications include an Armytrix cat-back exhaust system, downpipes with valve controls, and a DME Stage 2 tune, reportedly boosting output to 900 HP.
