Now available for auction is this 2018 Ford Mustang GT350 finished in Kona Blue with White racing stripes over a Black leather interior. The GT350 was introduced in 2015 with a 5.2L flat-plane crank “Voodoo” V8 producing 526 HP and track-focused equipment including MagneRide adaptive suspension, additional chassis and suspension tuning, Brembo brakes, revised aerodynamics, and more. This example was delivered new to Sunrise Ford, of Fontana, California, optioned with the Convenience Package which adds leather-trimmed power-adjustable climate-controlled seats, the Ford SYNC3 infotainment system, and a 9-speaker sound system. The engine was replaced by Ford at 300 miles due to common oil consumption issues and the car was subsequently bought back by the manufacturer in April of 2019, resulting in a branded Buyback/Lemon title. Now showing just over 3k miles on the odometer, this GT350 is being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
This GT350 was ordered in Kona Blue (L6) with over-the-top White racing stripes and features a vented hood and front fenders, a rear spoiler, a rear diffuser, automatic HID headlamps, sequential LED taillights, and quad exhaust tips. The original front splitter has been removed and the factory 19” Ebony-finished aluminum wheels are mounted with Michelin Super Sport tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.
The interior is trimmed in black leather with white contrast stitching and includes 6-way power-adjustable Sport Seats with heating and cooling functions equipped by the Convenience Package. Driver’s amenities include an 8” LCD touchscreen with the Ford SYNC3 system, Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability, navigation, a heads-up display, and a 9-speaker sound system, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control, aluminum foot pedals, a Shelby aluminum instrument panel, Shelby-exclusive trim, and an Alcantara-wrapped multi-function steering wheel.
The naturally aspirated 5.2L “Voodoo” flat-plane crank V8 engine bears the signatures of its engine builders and produces up to 526 HP and 429 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox and Torsen limited-slip differential, providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 3.9 seconds. The GT350 also is factory equipped with MagneRide adaptive suspension, a Brembo braking system with 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-pistons in the rear, coolers for the engine oil, transmission, and differential, and an aluminum strut bar. This example received a new replacement engine from Ford in April of 2019 due to oil consumption issues at just 300 miles, and the seller reports the car to have been dealer-maintained ever since.
This sale will include a branded Texas title. Fortified with a replacement engine, this low-mileage GT350 presents an incredible value.

Easy to be flippant about the Lemon history when you’re not bidding. So far as good documentation selling anything, maybe. We didn’t have that here. Gen 2 engine? Maybe. No proof provided by seller. “Dealer-maintained”? Anyone see a receipt for a dealer oil change over 3+ years? If they did, apologies, as I missed it. Trying to make an engine-related warranty claim from here under 5/60 without even evidence of an oil change sounds like a dice roll to me. If someone wins this, good luck and I hope it treats you well.
@JOHNGCCPB Makes sense. Good documentation can sell anything! Good luck!

@AwesomeDoug123 https://www.svtperformance.com/threads/how-to-tell-if-you-have-a-gen-ii-engine.1182478/
@AwesomeDoug123 Honestly, I've done research to find a way to see if there is an actual difference between the gen1 and gen2 or is it just an improvement that ford did. The vehicle does not have oil consumption issues now so it leads me to believe that when ford replaced the motor they did it with the gen 2.
Any confirmation if its a GEN 2 Voodoo motor?

@Vlad600sel The lemon did not void the ford powertrain warranty as it was done through ford!
The vehicle was still pretty cold, I pulled it out of my garage and went down the street for pics and startup video.
She is by far one of the best and most enjoyable cars I have owned, don't really want to sell her but I just purchased a McLaren so that's the reason for sale.
You bought it like that from dealer as bayback / lemon and gave you the warranty no issues?
Cold start ?
Why you selling?
@Vlad600sel Hello Yes, 5year/60k miles powertrain and 5year/60k miles roadside are both still remaining!
My bad. i see now.

@TRM54 If PCARMARKET cannot upload, I can email the video to you.
@TRM54 @pcarmarket Is it possible to upload startup video I provided to you?
Is it possible to post a video of you starting the car
@jbeinhor precisely!
Got it. So the old engine was consuming too much oil, the car was lemoned, then the engine was replaced? I’m just trying the confirm the exact order.
@jbeinhor It was a faulty engine from ford factory. Ford Placed a completely new one in there! (Documented on carfax)
*afterwards
A little confused as to the buyback — was it because of the engine or something lafyerwards?
Bid in the amount of $20,000
@ngamountains Hello, this GT350 has been dealer maintained recently and the new engine was installed by Ford. Unsure why it the recent service has not been recorded but I will provide documentation to buyer with the car! At 3K miles she's been very reliable and has not needed to go to the dealership.
Hello, This is the Seller. I am happy to answer any questions!
Assume Gen2 replacement engine, but no comment or photo of the engine build tag.
“Seller reports car to have been dealer-maintained ever since…”. Really? Zero maintenance receipts and one notation of maintenance on CARFAX at “Valvoline Express Care” over a year after taking ownership.
Is more information and documentation forthcoming?
