Up for auction is this generously equipped 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider. Finished in the Extra Campionario (special order) combination of Nero Opaco paint over a Blue Medio leather and Alcantara interior with yellow deviated stitching, this stunning 2018 example commanded an original sticker price of well over $425k.  One of the most advanced and highly acclaimed Ferrari’s on the road, this 488 Spider is now being offered by its selling dealer in California while showing just over 9k miles on the odometer.

This Spider is presented in a special Nero Opaco matte finish complemented by extended carbon-fiber trim, gold-painted 20” forged wheels and an entire exterior application of paint protection film.  Offering less drag and 50% more downforce than its predecessor the 458, the 488 utilizes improved aerodynamic features including a revised front splitter, underbody vortex generators, a newly designed rear spoiler, a larger rear diffuser, and active aerodynamic flaps.  The exterior is said to be in excellent condition except for a few slight paint chips on the wheels (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).

The cabin has been specially configured in Blue Medio leather and Alcantara with deviated stitching in Pelle Giallo (yellow).  Carbon fiber trim can be seen throughout the cabin and this example has been optioned with carbon fiber “Goldrake” racing seats and an F1-style flat-bottom steering wheel featuring an LED rev display and “carbon fiber driving zone”.  The interior is reported to in fantastic condition and the convertible top is said to be fully functional along with all other gauges and accessories.

The 488 is distinguished as being the first mid-engine Ferrari to be equipped with a turbocharged V8 engine since the legendary F40 supercar of the 1980s.  The 3.9L twin-turbo V8 powerplant in this Spider is capable of producing 660 HP and 561 lb.-ft of torque which is sent to the rear wheel through a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.  0-60 is achieved in as little as 3 seconds while reaching a top speed of over 200 MPH.  High-performance carbon-ceramic brakes have been equipped and the 488 comes standard with Ferrari’s “Manettino” steering wheel switch which allows the driver to adjust the characteristics of the throttle response and stability control.  Just over 9k miles from new, this 488 Spider is said to be in pristine driving condition for its next owner.

The 488 GTB was named "The Supercar of the Year 2015" by Top Gear magazine, in addition to becoming Motor Trend's 2017 "Best Driver's Car".  Jeremy Clarkson also announced the 488 Pista as his Supercar of the Year for 2019.
