We are pleased to offer this 2017 Mercedes-Benz R231 SL63 AMG finished in Cardinal Red Metallic over a Porcelain and Black Nappa leather interior. Launched in 2012 at the North American International Auto Show, the R231 SL was longer and wider than its predecessor while still weighing less thanks to its aluminum construction, a first for the SL-Class. As the top-range version available from 2012 to 2018, the SL63 AMG is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 and comes handsomely equipped as standard with heated and ventilated massaging multi-contour seats, a power-retractable hardtop with a panoramic glass panel, a Harman Kardon sound system, and much more. This example was also optioned with forged AMG wheels, soft closing doors, and the Driver Assistance Package. It was first delivered to Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City and moved to Texas before being purchased by its second owner as a certified pre-owned vehicle in 2021. It changed hands once more in February of 2022 and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Houston, Texas while showing approximately 8k miles on the odometer.
For 2017, the R231 received a mid-cycle facelift which included a revised front end with an updated grille, larger side vents behind the front wheels, adaptive LED front headlights, and restyled LED tail light lenses. This example is finished in Cardinal Red Metallic and features body styling exclusive to AMG models. The power retractable hardtop features a panoramic glass panel, and can be operated at up to 25mph. Features include auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, soft closing doors, and premium staggered 19”/20” AMG cross-spoke forged wheels finished in Titanium. The wheels are dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires. The finish is said to have been treated with a ceramic coating in 2021, detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in Porcelain and Black Nappa leather with carbon fiber trim on the center console and door panels. Occupants are treated to heated and ventilated massaging multi-contour seats, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Additional amenities include Keyless Go, COMAND infotainment with navigation, a power wind deflector, Magic Vision Control, Distronic Distance Pilot and Steering Pilot, Active Brake Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist as part of the Driver Assistance Package.
A twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 produces up to 577 HP and 664 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential. This example is equipped with Active Body Control suspension, which helps to eliminate body roll while cornering, braking, and accelerating. The CARFAX report highlights 6 service history records dating back to 2016, with the most recent entry in March of 2021.
This sale will include a set of two keys, the original window sticker, owner's manuals, and a clean title.

@Lambogas - great, thanks for that info and quick response.
@blackdogcars .... We looked it over closely when it came in and didnt see any signs of paint work ...... just walked out and metered the car and it meters perfect
@Lambogas - Thanks for bringing this beautiful SL to market. Quick question as I did not see paint meter photos - have any of the panels been previously refinished? Thanks and GLWS
@mzmaine ...Amen brother. Funny, we too drove a 512 for several years; fabulous car, but like the SL better. One other plus, the Ferrari maintenance was frightening, the Merc... oil change every 5000 miles.
@DrT I am in exactly in the same mind set. I sold our 997 cab and bought a 2014 SL550. I also have had several Ferraris one being a 512TR. The SL has more HP than the 512 and the torque is unreal. The fit and finish of the interior and the switchgear is the best there is imho. I think these cars should have a cult following as well as they are well built and engineered machines. I am also a pilot, and have a carrera targa and a cayman S. I have a 718 Spyder on order, but for comfort and quality, the Benz is more commonly used. Who ever buys this car will appreciate all these things.. I do think the AMG is just insane on the power, as the 550 is enough for my tastes.. we also have KTM super dukes, so we are not shy of speed and power to weight.. GLWA
@DrT ..... I am in complete agreement , I was a Lamborghini Dealer for 10 yrs and a pilot myself
@Lambogas seller, I'm a car guy. Bleed neat cars & gasoline. Owned a classic car & vintage motorcycle dealership after retiring from medicine and have owned virtually everything that runs on gas (including aerobatic sport planes & 130 mph boats). There's a lot of guys that dream of only Italian exotics (we've owned many) & lesser exotics (911s, 'Vettes, etc) that may mistakenly consider an SL-based car not worthy; not quick or fun enough. Your SL63 is awesome & I'd be buying it if we didn't already own & love our low-mile 2018 SL550. BTW, my comment is merely an opinion; albeit an educated one. You should be in agreement; but as I said; an opinion FWIW.
@DrT ..... Whoa whoa whoa ....... where ya going ?
FWIW... a note for anyone considering this... we replaced our 2009 911 Carrera S conv and 2019 Z06 conv with a 2018 SL550. It is every bit as quick (quicker?) as the Porsche (380 hp); not as quick as the Corvette (650 hp); but a better & more enjoyable daily driver than either. The comfort level and ride quality is much better. The quietness of the power-retractable hard top is better on long rides at highway speed. It does not attract police attention nearly as much. This SL63 ups our SL550. As a seasoned car guy; previous owner of Ferraris, Lambos, Maserati, Porsches, etc., It may not be for the weekend racetrack crowd, but for someone looking for a luxury high-performance sports/GT to enjoy everyday, these SLs & SL63/65s are unrivalled. BTW, we do not know the seller, have no dog in the fight, and I'm out of the bidding since we already have & love our SL550, but IMHO anything under $110,000 for this car is a steal. FWIW...
