Introduced in 2017 as a special limited-production version of Mercedes’ W463 G-Class, the 4x42 boasts extreme off-road capabilities with factory-equipped portal axles, geared hubs, triple locking differentials, and a rally-inspired parallel coilover suspension. This 2017 example was specified in Black over a designo Black Nappa leather and Dinamica interior, and sold new in 2017 at House of Imports Mercedes of Buena Park, California at an original sticker price of $225,925, before being relocated to Idaho by the second owner in 2019. Showing approximately 42,620 miles on the odometer, this 2017 G550 4x42 is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Idaho.
The exterior is finished in Black (9040) and is equipped with exposed carbon fiber fender flares, a tubular rear bumper under the conventional rear bumper, a silver front skid plate integrated into the front bumper, polished running boards, carbon fiber fender vents, carbon fiber LED running light housings on the bottom of the front bumper, a carbon fiber roof-mounted fairing with LED running lights, carbon fiber mirror caps with integrated LED turn signals, red brake calipers, rubber mud flaps, and dual side-exit exhaust tips. The seller notes that the rear tubular bumper is slightly off center, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 22” twin-5-spoke wheels are mounted with Pirelli Scorpion ATR all-terrain tires that display date codes from 2016.
The interior is trimmed in black Nappa leather accented by white contrast stitching, Anthracite Dinamica suede upholstery, and high-gloss carbon-fiber inlays. The power-adjustable front seats feature heating and ventilating functions, with Dinamica diamond-stitched inserts and 4x42 badges in the backrests. Amenities include a matching split-folding heated bench seat, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, an infotainment screen with COMAND navigation, Bluetooth, and Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability, a Harman Kardon Logic7 audio system, and a rearview camera.
The G550 4x42 is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged M176 V8 that was factory rated at 416 HP and 450 lb.-ft of torque. A 7-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission distributes power to all four wheels. The 4x42 is equipped with triple locking electronic differentials, portal axles, and geared hubs borrowed from the extreme G63 6x6 model, and offers nearly 18” of ground clearance, a water fording depth limit of 39”, and approach, break-over and departure angles besting a Hummer H1. The suspension features Ohlins dual springs and variable dampers at each corner, which are electronically adjustable from a switch in the cabin. Braking is handled by 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-pistons in the rear, both paired with cross-drilled rotors. The CARFAX report shows a history of dealership maintenance, with the last service performed in June of 2022 at Sun Valley Auto Club of Hailey, Idaho.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and the original window sticker.

I have this gorgeous beast in the showroom, 20 feet from my desk. I'll be monitoring the auction and ready to answer any questions throughout. I hope everyone has everything going their way. Cheers.
I love the fact this one has actually been driven. Beautiful!
