In 2017, Mazda released the MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition, with a limited production of 1000 cars for the United States finished in model-specific Machine Grey Metallic over an Auburn leather interior, with a hand-painted black roof panel and features from the Grand Touring trim level. This special edition Miata was purchased new at Galpin Mazda of North Hills California, optioned with the 6-speed manual transmission, and remains under the care of its original owner. Benefitting from regular service by the selling dealer and accompanied by a custom-designed 42mm Tourneau watch as part of the RF Launch Edition Package, this limited-edition MX-5 Miata is now being offered at auction by the seller out of California showing just over 17k miles on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in the unique triple-layer finish of Machine Grey Metallic (46G) with a hand-painted black power retractable roof panel. Equipment includes automatic LED projector headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, an aluminum hood and trunk lid, a glass rear window with a defroster, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with auto-dimming on the driver’s side, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a dual-tipped exhaust outlet. The seller reports a small scratch by the driver’s side wheel well and another small scratch on the passenger side front fender. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 17” alloy wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires in the front and Bridgestone DriveGuard run-flat tires in the rear.
The interior features two heated sport seats trimmed in Auburn leather, with a matching lower dashboard and door panels, accented with Machine Grey Metallic color-matched upper door panel trim. Amenities include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, parking brake handle, and shift knob, power accessories, a wind deflector, Piano Black seatback trim, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, a 7” LCD color display with navigation, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The aluminum door sill plates depict the silhouette of the MX-5 with “Launch Edition” text, and retain their original plastic wrapping.
The MX-5 is powered by a 2.0L DOHC four-cylinder that produces up to 155 HP and 148 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 6.1 seconds. Performance features include ventilated disc brakes at all four corners with ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and Brake Assist, front and rear anti-roll bars, double-pinion electronic power steering assist, Dynamic Stability Control, and Traction Control. Driver’s assists consist of blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and adaptive front lighting with automatic high beams. The seller reports services were completed at Galpin Mazda at 5,355 miles and 15,019 miles.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, associated sales literature, and a numbered 42mm Tourneau watch exclusive to the original purchaser of the RF Launch Edition.

@bradnic Yes , you are correct regarding HP and torque on the launch edition. I have asked the listing to be updated. Numbers are correct as shown on window sticker. Thank you
Agree with @damaho912 this is a 155HP ND1, not an ND2. There’s a bolt on Edelbrock SC that is fantastic. Beautiful. Special car, GLWTA
I know I’m going to regret selling this car, but here it is available for auction. Please ask any questions and happy bidding.

@Damaho912 I will see if the administrator will make the correction regarding horsepower and torque. Thank you for pointing that out
Sorry, meant to say 2019 MY. Couldn’t figure out how to edit my previous comment. Anyway good luck with the sale. Hope you get all the $$$ and then some! Wish mine came with the watch!!
Hello. Lovely car, I have it’s 2022 edition. There is no more fun drive out there than this car! There is a correction to be made in the write up. The 2017 Miata engine produced 155 hp/148 torque. The 181/151 engine did not arrive until the 2018 MY.
